Beoken backlight i think my psp backlight has broken as unless you hold the screen under the light, and then you can faintly see the display. i think it is the backlight that has broken because the screen has no cracks and the display seems fine. how can i fix the backlight?

Many occasions LCD on camera display never fails but back light fails unless physical damage to LCD screen. Hold a torch to display when camera is on you will see faint(black and white) image means LCD is ok but back light is failed, it's replaceable but needs little skill to replace. Or replace full Screen with backlight. This is easy. Just remove back cover, remove display by loosening flex lock, put back new display carefully lock it holding flex with one finger. Please do not touch display flex contacts.

If you see a faint image when light is used, it indicates bad inverter board, "located under the LCD screen" or the backlight behind the display.

If you can hear sound then the problem is most likely your LCD screen. look at the screen under a bright light. if you can make out a faint picture then your backlight is out. Usually this means your screen needs to be replaced. replacement screens can be found on ebay for about $25

If you cannot hear sound or see anything on the screen then you have a more general motherboard failure of some kind and should bring it to a service technician.

Turn On your psp ress the directional button. If there is sound from the menu. I think you lcd backlight dead or the hardware conecction not work properly that make the lcd backlight died

Hi Turn it on and walk out to sunlight and look at the screen (look very hard turning it to different directions see if you can see the image) or under a bright light. if you can hear it playing a game then certainly the screen is gone. But if you can see an image under light it will be one of two things, backlight fuse on the circuit board or the backlight in the screen. But wait there's more, if someone has got to it and broken the latch on the backlight ribbon catch good luck to you to find someone to fix it. I have replaced a few of these and you need experience (seriously they melt when you take a soldering iron to them) Good luck give us a tick if this helps only to help others

See your PSP under bright light, if you can see the pic, ( its look like shadow ) the backlight fuse has burned. if not...

try to press bright button on psp. if itsn't work you have a semibrick psp. Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back should you need additional information.

if you go it a month ago it is still under warranty. also try to press and hold the bottom that changes the brigthness for more than 5 second. It may be that

if the psp screen is anything like a laptop it will have a backlight that lights up the screen what can happen is you can break the light and while you will still see things on the screen when you look closely but it wont be illuminated. i had a friend that dropped his laptop and smashed the backlight he sent it away and got it fixed i suggest you send it to sony to get it fixed
