My camera is codeing a 32:11 (moisture) The manual tells me to eject the tape and let sit for an hour but I can not eject the tape. If I look at the veiw finder it says no tape, but there is a tape in there that I dont want to lose. I tried taking the batteries out and holding the eject button while powering up but it still will not open. I also tried removeing the battery and have it set to player but to no avail. Please help if you can. Thanks
The mechanism got stuck.
Open the cassette compartment screws and apply external DC to the Power input and eject the tape.

Cassette Ejection needed Slow Flashing: The Write protect tab exposed
Fast Flashing: Moisture Condensation Cassette out of tape Self diagnosis display functionactivated
Sounds like the diagnosis function maybe your best shot...... Check displayed error codes in viewfinder on Page 231 of the User Manual or let me know if you dont have copy of them.
Tape Symbol Flashing:
Tape near end No cassette inserted The write protect tab exposed.
I think this is basically telling you the loading mechanism has a problem, the viewfinder is displaying an error code indicating the nature of the fault..... IF error Code is : E61:........ or E62........ (dots indicate extra numbers) these MUST be referred to Sony Service Centre.
Per the manual
C means you can fix E means professional service needed.
21 is moisture condensation. icon of rain drop in a box will flash on screen unless moisture in lens Eject tape let sit 1 hour or more to acclimate
31...manual says to eject cassete and reinsert, operate OR daisconnectpower cord andremove battery, reconnect, operate.
Camera gives Moisture error sign if it really have moisture condensation inside or its moisture sensor itself got defective.
if moisture is inside, blow hot air in camera mechanism for 5-6 minutes by hair dryer (not so closed with mechanism) and check / test.
If problem still exist it means moisture sensor is defective and i know its Sony high-end model camera and know how to fix it yet I would recommend to take camera to Sony Service center for proper repair.
Under self diagnosis display -------------------------------------------------- C21:00 Moisture condensation has occurred. Remove the cassette and leave your camcorder for at least 1 hour to acclimatize. (p117)
On p117 ------------------------------------------------- If your camcorder is brought directly from a cold to a warm place, moisture may condense inside your camcorder, on the surface of the tape, or on the lens. In this condition, the tape may stick to the head drum and be damaged or your camcorder may not operate correctly. If there is moisture inside your camcorder, the beep sounds and the [picture of water drip] indicator flashes. When the [end tape icon] indicator flashes at the same time, the cassette is inserted in your camcorder. If moisture condenses on the lens, the indicator will not appear.
If moisture condensation occurred None of the functions except cassette ejection will work. Eject the cassette, turn off your camcorder, and leave it for about 1 hour with the cassette compartment open. Your camcorder can be used again if the [water drip] indicator does not appear when the power is turned on again.
Note on moisture condensation Moisture may condense when you bring your camcorder from a cold place into a warm place (or vice-versa) or when you use your camcorder in a hot place as follows: - You bring your camcorder from a ski slope into a place warmed up by a heating device. - You bring your camcorder from an air-conditioned car or room into a hot place outside. - You use your camcorder after a squall or a shower. - You use your camcorder in a high temperature and humidity place.
How to prevent moisture condensation when you bring your camcorder from a cold place into a warm place, put your camcorder in a plastic bag and tightly seal it. Remove the bag when the air temperature inside the plastic bag has reached the surrounding temperature (after about 1 hour).
try removing the button cell battery, main battery, and any other power source from the camera and let it sit for one hour. THen using only the AC adaptor, see if the camera works, if it doesn't then you may have to take it to a repair shop, cause the cassette door has malfunctioned.
My best solution, is to pull all power sources form the camera for 24 hours. If this does not work, then take the small screws surrounding the Tape housing, in order to try and get the tape out. Best of luck dude ;)
it is whats called moisture condensation. this happens when the camera goes from a cold to a hot environment very quickly, and vice versa. Simply leave the camera standing with the tape door open for about an hour, and then try again. If this does not fix it, then try cleaning the video heads, and make sure the camera is not in a humid environment, as this will also cause this to happen.
