Oil leak hey i wanted know was this bad and is it fixable my car is shoot oil out the top far right side like kinda by mu belts what could that be

why not lead off with a real problem and all evidence first.
yes compression test can show 200PSI easy with 10:1 CR
both tests only prove the top 2 rings are good and cyl walls not scored hugely.( lead down at TDC)
no engine or maker told at all.

those other questions, about cracks
well gee , depends where the cracks are. and how bad they are.
freeze damaged water jackets? (you do know the machine chip pressure tests the block and head to find cracks not seen
and the cracks in heads can go anywhere wants. port, combustion chambers or water jacket to top if head OIL side. lifter side.

most times the leak-down test finds bad rings and is done at TDC.
so only finds cracks a TDC, unless you do tricky tests just after valves closed.

read the 100 point tests of of engine rebuild. it's huge. CHECK IT OUT FIRST.
oil consumption a question here?
oil control rings bad, or not seated or wallS with scoring
valve seals bad, are first to fail most time.
or valve stems guides so loose it beats the seals to *****.?
clogged PCV , and it burns more oil and leaks out seals.

the compression test is done , at 300RPM starter running.
warm/hot engine, not cold, all sparks out, W.O.T AND FULL BATTERY CHARGE ! factory manuals shows PSI to expect.
and is altitude dependent, (need chart ask)
AT THIS TIME THOSE PISTONS MOVE REAL FAST
AND WiLL IGNORE SOME SCORING AND CRACKS.
Due TO SWEPT SPEED ALONE.
and the test repeated with 1/2 teaspoon of oil, down spark hole if PSI jumps high rings are not seating.(for all the reasons)

Very likely tell you that you have low engine oil level. I surprised that you didnt kill engine driving like that. If oil level is ok then it may indicate low engine oil pressure. See mechanic.

you have tranny lines and power steering lines there as well as the coolant hoses

Hey Joe,
Are you sure it's the hydraulic oil low pressure or is it the engine oil low pressure light? Check the engine oil for being low, over full, filter change, right type of oil, leaks, air filter, spark plug, clean air intake, battery getting a good charge, if that stuff is ok, then find your oil pressure switch and change that out.
But it if it is the hydraulic oil light, check for leaks, that is a high pressure system so don't put your hand by hydraulic leaks use cardboard or something to check for leaks, a pin hole leak can cause severe damage to your skin from a high pressure injection from fluid.

the seal where the shaft goes must be bad needs to be replaced

Sounds like u could have another leak possibly, coolant or oil getting on the belt, also look for the belt tensioner, when they go bad they will squeak really loud

6ve1 engines are non interference and therefore will not bend valves and is why it uses a rubber timing belt.. leaks from top right hand side are likely the head gaskets on that side or the cam sprocket into the head seal has failed .. no biggie

This should be located on the passeger side of the engine compartment, follow the serpentine belt to the pully, it should be near the top toward the rear, you will see the filler cap, be carfull not to over fill.

Sounds like the timing belt may have broke. You can check by opening the oil cap on the valve cover and watching the valves while someone cranks the engine. If the valves do not move, your timing belt has snapped. Please let us know if this is not the cause or if you would like instructions for replacing the belt.

see the big cover on top that says 2.4l go towards drivers side see the plug in for the cover assy, now look a little to the front right between the uprights on the head kinda like the valley the spark plugs are in. right there cant miss it.
