Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2 Digital Camera

1 Answer

When trying to view pictures on camera, some become smaller

On my Sony Cybershot DSC-H2, when I take pictures and then press the button to view what has been taken, some pictures it will show them full screen and then immediatly make them much smaller on the screen.  Then when I try to upload them to a computer, they will not upload.  No computer recognizes the picture file.  I am taking the pictures in the same mode, so I can not figure out why it is doing that.  I have lost some great shots do to this problem and I am afraid to keep using the camera in fear that this will keep happening. Does anyone know if there is some special setting on the camera that I need to adjust or is my camera just having a problem?  Please, please, please help me.  I am just at a loss at what to do.

I have done the reset in with the initialize option in the camera menu. Now, with the pictures that I have already taken (that are on my memory stick), is there a way to save those that are giving me problems. Some are a 1/4 of the screen and some look like they are sliced right down the middle and shifted slightly with different color tones on each half.  VERY ODD!  I would like to have those pictures that were taken- if there is a way to get them.  Still need more help.....   :)

Taken pictures has corrupt data and can't be corrected, better to format memory stick too to avoid future data corruption in writing process.

Try to reset the camera to original settings:
How to reset a Cyber-shot® digital still camera back to original factory settings. Solution
sp.gif sp.gif Cyber-shot cameras nowadays have a built-in rechargeable battery for retaining time, date, and other settings. Since the built-in rechargeable battery is not removable, current Cyber-shot camera models can only be returned to the original factory settings by pressing a small RESET button on the camera or by using an Initialize option in the menu.
Older-model Cyber-shot cameras (prior to the year 2000) do not have a built-in rechargeable battery and do not have a RESET button or Initialize option in the menu. These cameras require a manual power reset.

When I turn my Sony Cybershot dsc-p72 on, i am able to view my pictures, but when i try to take a picture the screen is black and it makes a whirring noise. Then the camera turns off automatically. How can...

Confirm if you're using a fully charged Battery with the Camera. Check if you're able to playback the images normally. Then, try to reset the Camera by either pressing the Reset button when the Camera is in ON condition or by removing the Battery and pressing the Power button for 1 minute and reinsert the Battery. Unfortunately, if the issue persists your Camera requires service.

Sony Cybershot DSC-H2 will not turn on.

I have this problem too. The bad news is that so far, I have tried all the prescribed remedies. I called Sony. Hector had me press the preview button to see if I could get the camera to show pictures on file. It did. Hector then told me to press the preview button again, to see if it would switch to camera. It did not. I also set the camera to ISO and got a message to turn off the camera and turn it back on which did not work. All of this said, Hector determined that the problem was in the lens mechanism, and I could mail the camera to Laredo TX or find a dealer local that can fix it. Laredo will const me 149.00 American Pesos. I have yet to determine how to remove the lens my self, as it may just need cleaned out. If I find out how, I will post it here.

Sorry.
