Before installing a Windoze server (no matter what flavour) you always need to verify the compatibility (drivers) with the machine's hardware... A Windoze XP driver will rarely work for a server environment... Micro$oft built all servers version to run in server machine type... further more you also need to verify softwar compatibility as well... as not all workstation software is compatible with server environments... and your machine advertises that it is a WORKSTATION NOT A SERVER...
Hi, You can download the driver from the link below. The driver is for windows XP operating system. Incase you are using Linux or other operating system ,select the operating system first before downloading.
It appears that compaq doesnt support that version of windows for that machine.
That doesnt mean you can't get it working though. for that os, i suggest either trying xp vista or windows 7 drivers.
i would try xp drivers first, because they are the closest generation of drivers to windows server 2003.
you can get the drivers for your computer here: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3926824&taskId=135&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=3926822&lang=en&cc=us
I hope this works for you. Microsoft did report the there are very few windows server 2003 drivers available.
Server 2008 is not detecting your drives, because it does not have drives for what ever hard drive controller you are using. You will need to determine which controller your drives are attached to and load the appropriate driver during setup. I believe this system has built in SCSI and SATA controller and often shipped with add - in storage cards. Our came with a promise sata raid controller.
