Question about Televison & Video
Where to buy service parts; ''video display ribbon cable''.
Cannot find service support or parts dealer!
Lost or broken display image, due to failed video display ''ribbon cable''. Routing video display cable through screen hinge caused micro mini ribbon cable to fracture at area of case hinge. Ribbon cable connects from lower player main frame to upper display screen ''lid''.
Have three identical units all with same problem!
I believe Circuit City originally distributed this item however they are little to no help and do nothing for cutomer service support.
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Hi It's sad when a simple problem, causes a piece of equipment to be thrown away, while all the expensive parts are still ok. If you are mechanical, and can carefully take the unit apart,(make sure it is unplugged), the ribbon cable may be a plug-in type, and you can remove it from it's connector on the monitor end, and in the main unit, and if you bring it to your local electronics repair shop, they may give you one if they have one the same size (same # of conductors), or sell you one for a few dollars. Otherwise, if you have a fine tipped soldering iron, and experience soldering, you can bypass some or all of the damaged connectors in the ribbon cable with small wires. Cut them to length, and solder them to the respective pins on the ribbon cable connectors. Hopefully, you can see which lines on the ribbon cable have been damaged, and will only have to hard-wire bypass a couple. Otherwise, it would be more economical to replace it. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

You may be able to find a comparable cable on some other brand, but Cyberhome seems to be defunct. An alternative is to find another unit of the same make and brand and scavenge what you need...accordianman

SOURCE: I need a car adapter for an 8
Radioshack makes car adapters for just about anything; they're called IGO adapters. Take your item in and they will match the tip and give you the adapter. It will run about $30 but it's well worth it.
Please give me a good rating if this helped! Thanks!
