Doning Recoveries for Virus/Spyware problems

If your computer is getting slower even through a recovery, you should try making sure that all the cooling fans are clean. Just take a can of compressed air and give it a blast into all the air vents in your laptop. Make sure you do this with the battery out and the power off, just in case a little condensation gets inside the laptop.
Norton should be able to prevent viruses, but browsing habbits mean a lot when it comes to viruses. Avoid downloading files through peer to peer software. Many websites will install spyware onto your computer, and many software downloads try to bundle programs that run in the background on your computer. MSN messenger, for example will by default try to install the MSN toolbar, and other small bits of software that can add up to really slow down the machine.
If you're using windows Vista, it's good to have at LEAST 1GB of RAM, and even then Vista can demand much more, causing you to fall into paging file usage, which really slows a computer down.
If you're using Windows XP, make sure that you are completely up to date, as many exploits have been discovered, and patched with automatic updates.

Hope this helps.

I have a dell latitude d350 it is a great computer but somehow it got spyware and tuns of virusus on it

disable system restore and delete the restore points and then update your anti virus and anti spyware defintions and run a virus and spyware scan in safemode.
How to disable system restore points and delete them
How to get into safe mode
Also what anti virus and anti spyware products are you using - if anything symantec then get rid of that and use avg free or avast ( register it for free and then its free for home use )
Also for anti spyware use spybot search and destroy as well as a squared
If you need specific links to those post back. If you need further info / help post back
Also if this resolves your issue please rate it as a fix.

Cant sign in to MSN Messenger it says Temporary Problem when i check the service site it says its running think i deleted a file

Hi there, my name is Alex and I am here to help solve your problem

A common problem to signing in to MSN Messenger is the date and time set incorrectly. You can locate this at the bottom right hand corner of the desktop. After setting the time and date correctly, you should be able to sign in without problem.

If Messenger gives problems and the date and time are both set correctly, exit MSN Messenger and exit the icon which is located in the system bar (next to the time and date) and then open MSN Messenger again.

I hope this problem helps..... If you have any questions or more problems, please feel free to ask me.

My msn is not working

Probably virus or spyware problem.
Run scan for both and uninstall msn messenger and reboot then reinstall it.
Assuming your are talking about your messenger.

Cannot sign in messenger

For the certificate expired problem, check the time and date to make sure it is correct. If it is not the you need to replace the BIOS battery on your laptop. (Not something I recommend you trying yourself, take to a Local shop)
I suggest uninstalling then reinstalling msn messenger.

Acer- messenger problems

Issues with MSN are not really your fault, as it is not software that you provided. It is possible that they have not configured their firewalls properly to allow MSN to pass, and some companies actively block messenger from passing, they should speak to their Network admin. I would ensure that they have up to date versions and that, any further issues they have they should take up with MSN support, and that they have sufficient Anti Virus and Spyware protection. I know it is difficult, but your responsibility for this lies with the hardware itself, (which as far as I can see there is no problem). The responsibility for software lies with the software manufacturer.
