At the back of the printer there what we call as rear access door. open that door and you could see the rollers. clean the rollers with either a lint free cloth or a cotton swab/ball/strip and moist it with water. if that does not help the paper sensor and printer mechanism is damaged. nic61 is right do not let your printer be service by firms. it will cost you alot. and by the look of this printer model this probably is in warranty. you can call hp and asked them for a replacement. it will be a remanufactured product. even you will be escalating this to their case managers' they will just lie to you that they are going to send new a printer. The printer may look brand new but it is already used. its up to you, if you are in warranty and wants a working printer call them.

Paper jams with card stock

Lubricate the print head shaft. Not too much as it will collect dust.

My hp deskjet all-in-one f4180 worked just fine until one day the paper started feeding in crooked every time Thanks in advance

Sounds like an old paper jam, were there is still a "small piece of paper in the takeup rollers. Check with a torch, just to make sure takeup is clear.

How to change ink cartridges? Release jammed paper? Paper won't feed!

Sounds like it needs cleaning:

You will need : 1 can of "compressed air", 1 container of ether rubbing alcohol or some form of Goo-Gone.

1. In short blasts (NOT LONG ONES) blow through the paper path. Open any paper jam access trays before doing this so the bits escape.

2. Using a SMALL amount of Goo-Gone and either a Q-Tip or small dust free cloth, clean all the rubber rollers on the bars. Cheap paper leaves a fine dust and after time will make the wheels very slick.

Doing this every other month can save you from jams and is just a good maintenance plan for your printer.

Also don't use 'cheap paper'.

Good luck! :)

Paper jam

Ensure all paper pieces have been removed, you might have damaged some circuits or wiring. If still do not want to power-on take to vendor.
