Smart thru 4 sacning program not work with windows vista.

I HAVE NO SAMSUNG SCX 4100 PRINTER & SCANNER DRIVER, SO PLEASE HELP ME - I AM NOT PRINTING & SCANNING MY DOCUMENTS, PLEASE

Did you install the correct driver including the scan driver? The drivers are available at the Samsung Site: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/SCX-4100 . Click on the Driver tab for most or the Software Tab for the SmarThru4 program. Make sure to get the correct version for the OS on the office computer. Generic OS drivers often only run the printe, not the scanner. Uninstall the generic driver before attempting to nstall the Samsung driver.

Next check the data cable. Scanners require bi-directional communication with the computer and can fail when the printer works.

hello try to remove smathru and reinstall it

on the web, go to http://www.samsung.com then navigate through 'Support" then "Download Center", then "Printer & Multifunction" and on to your printer. Select drivers and operating system then download the file you need. After downloading is complete, install the program and you should be OK.

I just fixed this problem for my computer. Try installing the scanner driver. You probably have the printer driver installed but the scanner driver is needed for Smarthru

In the SmartThru application, find the devices connected list (usually on the upper right corner at the main screen). Select the SCX-4100 from the list, since this software will work with many scanners. After selecting the unit, close and restart the program.

I dont know the exact tip for this one. but you can try the following steps to solve this problem.

Download the Windows Vista printer driver for the SCX-4216F multifunction printer from www.samsung.com.

1. Install the driver on your Windows Vista computer. During installation, you’ll be prompted to connect the printer to your computer. Choose the option to proceed with installation without connecting the printer.
2. After installation completes, open the Printers applet from the Windows Vista Control Panel.
3. Right-click on the new Samsung SCX-4100 Series printer and choose Properties.
4. Go to the Ports tab.
5. Click Add Port…, select Local Port, then click New Port…
6. For the port name, enter exactly the network path and share name of your printer (e.g. \\RECEPTION\Samsung SCX-4×16 Series).
7. Click OK, and double-check that this new port is selected with the checkbox next to it.
8. Click OK to close the printer properties.

scx-4100 scanner can be used after installing SMART THRU software which is on the installation CD.
You can also use programs like photoshop ,mspaint etc to scan using scx-4100 scanner.
