Yes, I do allow the time first - it is only when I actually press the button to take the picture that this occurs.

    Any more suggestions very welcomed!

Have tried resetting it, and everything else works fine: still except the flash!

1. Reset Default option under the SETUP Menu 3 of the Camera.

2. Please remove Battery from the Camera and reinsert after 1 minute and then try.

The 0x32 error message appears when the built-in flash cannot fire due to a charging error and will require service

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, I would venture that your camera is sensing that the flash is drawing too much power, more than the prescribed/programmed allocation (in some it would be something like 100mA). While this would indicate a probable fault in the electronic circuitry of the flash, it could also be a firmware glitch. This would be verified by your post that the same error is not shown when the flash is not used.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Is that the exact message received on the camera? How long have you owned the camera? How long has this been happening? Does the camera operate fine without the flash? are you using the built in flash?
Once I have more information I can assist you further.
Thanks,
Lee

Dear Sir/Madam,

It sounds like something is whacky with the flash getting charged up. Typically, the icon will flash until the flash is charged and ready. Do you give the flash some time to charge before you press the button?

Thanks
Good Luck

Sony error code=0x58

Try using a different lens. Also, take the lens off and make sure there is nothing hindering its communication with the camera body.

Sony a100 keeps locking up and giving an error cod = 0x57

Try turning the camera off, take the battery out, reinsert it. If that doesn't work, the manual says to contact your local Sony dealer. You might also want to try taking the lens off, making sure nothing is hindering its communication to the camera body. Try using another lens if you have one.
