We got a new filter and when we went to run the water, it would not come out. We put the old one in, and it would not come out. We are getting ice, but I do not think that it is making new ice. There was ice where the water comes in to make the ice, I was able to remove that, but think that there may be ice through the whole line. I did notice the fridge was set at a pretty cold setting, so could that be the problem? I don't want to have someone come fix it, if this is something that we can do, but if not, we will call a repairman.
Have same problem as Glenn. went on vacation for 6 days and now cannot get water out of water dispenser. thought filter needed to be replaced. did that and it is still not working, but seems to be making ice. Kenmore elite bottom freezer refrigerator model 501kr00302Serial #75543 Thanks Mary

Cut water supply off to frig disconnect water supply line to frig water inlet valve turn water back on to make sure you are getting good water supplied to water inlet valve some times water cut off gets stopped up. If you are getting good water flow to water inlet valve then check to make water valve is opening up all the way. if not then replace valve.
Mr. Harris, My advise is to drain the water and fuel mixture from your fuel tank, remove if is easy the fuel tank and completely dry it up,Go by the engine bay and find the fuel pipe which is coming from the tank to the injection system where probably is a fuel filter, renew the fuel filter, blow air in the pipe from the engine side towards the fuel tank-but before you do blow air in the pipe be sure is not connected to the fuel tank, for not sending the water back in. If you did not start the car since water went into fuel, means that you finished with the above,by connecting everything and put fuel in the tank and start the engine. If you did have the engine running when water went into fuel, means that you have to remove the spark plugs and whilst are out and the fuel tank is clean with new fuel and fuel filter make the engine spinning second to second for 2-3 minutes so as the any old fuel to push out from the spark plug holes. After clean your spark plugs or renew them and also before running the engine is good to put an injection cleaner additive in the fuel tank. Better to put fuel up to a quarter of the tank and run it treating all the system.
How To Remove The Water Filter In The French Door Refrigerator French... Here is the best solution associated answer for your product per the manufacturer. Follow the instructions closely. I have been down your road. Turn the water off to the refrigerator and let it rest. Run both the water maker and the ice machine briefly. Take the time to copy the instructions. It is worth the procedure. Fare well dear Lady.
Cloudy water is the bane of sand filters!. I suggest letting filter run day and night. Do not backwash until the pressure rises 8 - 10 pounds above clean starting pressure. Do not try to vacuum or stir up the sediment. when water clears, vacuum to waste. Keep the hose running while vacuuming. A dirty filter is a better filter (up to a point). At a higher pressure the filter will trap more of the fine particles that are clouding your water.
The water lines are contaminated with bacteria and/or mold. This is a problem with many refrigerators. You need to turn off water and disconnect the feed line and filter. Mix 4 ounces of Clorox(R) in 1 gallon of water and pump it through with a NEW garden sprayer. You can remove the wand and clamp it onto the water inlet. Activate the dispenser while you pump the bleach through the system. Once bleach starts coming out the dispenser, vent the garden sprayer (de-pressurize), Let the bleach sit for 15-20 minutes. Re-attached water using a brand new filter (do not use the old filter and do not put bleach through filter). Run water until no chlorine odor (it can be a while). This process needs to be done at least once a year.
Try putting the old filter back in . Just because the " change filter " light comes on , does not mean to actually change the filter if your water dispensor is not just trickling out . If water was coming out fine before replacing filter , no need to replace it just because ot the indicator . I have found new filters which worked worse than the old filter . Just put the old filter back in and problem solved .
I would suggest that you put the new water filter back in and try dispensing water for about ten minutes. If there is still a high pitched noise then you could try bleeding the water line at different points along the water circuit (with control over the incoming supply). The fact that you are forcing water through the tank should normally resolve any air locks. The water filter could also be bled of air. Hope this is of some help.
