I have my own resopurce already but the thing is you need to spend money for the repair. I contacted a service engineer for the unit and they sy it can be repaired.

Hello frostyscoppe & micoh luv. I'm sorry to say that (like mine) they may have just 'packed in'! I had the same problem and contacted Harmon Kardon directly, They said there was a circuitry problem that couldn't be repaired and suggested I get the latest HK IIs. So I did and found these to be much more versatile and worth upgrading to. I thought my 'old' HDs were fine but sadly things aren't made to last like they used to be!!! If someone else is able to 'rescue' your originals I'd be very interested to hear their suggestions.

The speakers don't work at all. The blue light goes on fine, but there's no sound. They used to work fine with my iPod and iPhone, but not anymore.

Hi, Have they been turned off?
These speakers have a habit of setting their volume level to zero if the power is removed.
At the bottom of the right-hand speaker you should see some tiny volume up/down buttons.
Try pressing the up and see what happens.

How do I disassemble + clean Harmon Kardon SoundStick subwoofer?

Check for a Fuse. Mine is an older model and has a Fuse right next to the power cord. It probably has a slot for a flathead screwdriver.

No sound from my harman kardon speakers from imac

Has a speaker system ever worked on the iMac or is this the first try?

Does its onboard speaker work or is it muted? I'd start with some basic setup procedures.

I need help getting my speakers to work.

Harmon kardon is the whole name that you are looking for. They are very popular for computer speakers as well as home audio speakers. Google their name and you can find the manufacturers website which you can then look up most manuals otherwise contact the manufacturer directly if your model is older to get a printed copy of the model you own. After a few years they tend to drop the models off of their websites in order to make room for new models...

Hope this helps you out tons :)

Good luck!

Harmon Speaker distortion

Hi, I came across a similar problem with an old Altec and the the solution was to only replace the defective side. Actually, what was replaced was only the speaker itself inside the enclosure which was cheaper rather than replacing the entire assembly. An electronics technician (not necessarily a computer tech) can do the job since some soldering might be involved.
