Picture on 42'' Viore Plasma Tv

I have a 42'' Viore Plasma Model PDP4210EA that is 2 years old. 2 days ago it was working perfect until we heard a pop. Then the picture was very dim and looks almost like a negative camara film. Volume works fine and I tried other inputs such as a Dvd player and a game console but they all look the same. Does anybody know which circuit board might need replaced? Thanks Bob

No or not much of a picture. My TV repair shop determined it was a power supply and Viore sent them to Fox International for the parts. Fox quoted 1100.00 dollars for a power supply. Way to extreme as I paid about this 2 years ago also at a black Friday special. I will look into having the power supply "fixed" or rebuilt with better parts and if I find a better solution will get back here with an alternative suggestions. Any one else had a chance to check on this?

I have the same exact problem. After I called the Viore customer service, they told me to go to Menu - and choose the icon with the wrench and click on the option under white out to reset the TV image. The setting for brightness, etc should be 60, 50, 50, 0, 4, middle. I'm still seeing horrible images! Thru another website, I saw that if you call ESI at 818-227-1694 and tell them that you want to talk to someone about your viore plasma, they will buy you out. We've had this TV for 2 years and heard a "pop" yesterday and that was it! After I reset the TV, the Customer service rep told me to call a local TV repairman. :(

SOURCE: 42 inch LG Plasma TV - Lost picture

Our LG 50" plasma tv screen went black after a popping noise but still had sound, after great diliberations decided to take the back off and have a peek!
We unplugged the tv and tested the fuses (there were three we could see) one had blown, the one on the left as you look at the back of the tv it also has one above it. We wrote the code/seriel number down and took the fuse to the electrical wholesalers Maplin and bought a pack of 10 fuses for £1.29 replaced the fuse in the tv and everything now fine!!!!!!
Hope this might be of use to anyone whose lost the picture after a loud popping/snacking noise but still has sound.

SOURCE: 42 inch LG Plasma TV - Lost picture

Hi , I recently had the same problem which I was determined to fix . So I did a few weeks of research to find that it was the Y SUS board which burns out. I'm sure you realized that the TV gets hot. Personally I think this is why. circuit boards don't like heat and I've learned that the cooling fans are a joke. I replaced the board and got my picture back. I proved the fan theory because after the screen started to act up. I placed a cooling fan near the vent holes on top and the problem cleared right up,It also helps if you lower the brightness which helps out on the heat situation.I will soon be adding a fan with a temp. sensor. This shoud help if your screen has lines when you initially turn the cool TV on.then I have Some other costless solutions. Hope this helped these are great TV's and like our cars we maintain them not throw them away..................................Mr Wiseman

Hello kdmuszik,

Welcome, and thank you for using FixYa!

Your issue is with your Tuner Board. This piece will have to be replaced. All commands for picture ratio, color, and size transmit to the TV through this board. I have inclusded a link to the board you should be looking for, below.

NEED TO GET SOME LG PARTS

You likely will not be able to get the parts from LG. The Viore is made by more than 1 company. The serial number will likely help me detrmine me what company made the set.

I'm hoping to get some clarification as to whether the below is correct or whether I have been taken for a ride. My LG was picked up by a repair service because it started displaying horizonal lines with the picture hazily in the background. I undertook some research and learned that in most cases of the boards needed replacing and it wasn't a panel issue (usually panel issues are associated with vertical lines). After having my TV for 5 days the repair service advised that it required a new power board and a small repair required on another board. They repaired the small repair and I was going to purchase a new power board however the TV has been returned to me dead. It now doesn't even turn on. The power/channel/indicator lights at the bottom flash on then switch off automatically. After getting consumer affairs involved, I finally received a call from the sub contractor and aside from a number of different excuses given based on my questioning of each explanation, all were contrary to the initial diagnosis discussed with me in early June. I documented the conversation which I summarise as follows: - he contacted numerous times however I never received any voicemail. I asked why - after "numerous phone calls" he didn't send a txt msg to which he replied that he's not allowed to send messages. - he initially alleged that the power board was repaired and video board needed replacing which I was quoted for. I corrected him advising that I was told and quoted for a new power board ($530) and the video board was to be repaired. He then changed his story agreeing with me and alleged that found and apparently quoted me $445 for a generic power board but I declined....Just to clarify, I never received this 2nd quote which is evidenced within the emails and messages I sent after receiving no response over a number of weeks. - he continued to claim that the TV now has panel problems and is now not repairable. - I recited the discussion the owner had with me which was consistent with the information when he provided me with the original quote of $530. He then altered his story replying that "this is a rare case... The owner doesn't know what he's saying". - When I challenged why I was quoted for a power board when he is now claiming there are panel issues, his response was that a new power board was to test if the panel was cracked!! - I replied saying that the TV was delivered to them with horizontal lines and even after testing should've been returned with horizonal lines however is now dead. - his excuse changed again advising that during testing he short circuited the TV and replacing the power board would continue to short circuit the video board..When I again questioned WHY then was i quoted for a new power board (as per the owners conversation with me) he returned back to stating that it was a rare case! - I told him about the screws missing in the back panel to which he commented that "they" wouldn't have put them back in because "they" assumed I would just dispose of the TV. What I find interesting is that this was his understanding whilst I was led to believe the TV was repaired (pending a new power board). It now makes sense as to why the driver who delivered the TV literally dropped it off and ran advising that he didn't know anything. I never received a service report and asked for it again however am yet to see it. Based on this information, can anybody shed light on what they've done to the TV? Prior to them taking the TV the horizontal lines were consistent with had a faint picture in the background and didn't alter at all. They're claiming that they did nothing and the TV - claiming that the reason why the panel doesn't turn on is because it was kept on while they were testing.
