I was trying to make wireless HOme&Office Connection and using 2 Wireless -G USB Adapter. Cannot connect to the computers. I uses Windows Xp Home as an operating system and the other uses Windows Vista operating system. I would like these 2 computer set up to communicate our home. Sharing files from one computer to the other at home.
Router, computer1,Lynksys wcg200, recognizes signal. works fine. Adapter, lynksys wireless-G. There is a delay in-between the time I click on a page, during which time i am given a message that the Internet Explorer cannot display the page. The delay lasts approximately 2-3 minutes. Obviously there will always be a delay, but it should never be seen by the human eye. Nanoseconds. Have any ideas what may be causing this? Any solutions?
A connection from USB adapter directly to USB adapter may or may not be possible. Borrow a wireless router from someone and use it to test supporting connections to your two computers. I think you will find this a much easier way to proceed. Routers can be had for $40 or less. Shop around.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Plug the wireless USB adapter into the USB port on the back of the Xbox 360 console.
Turn on your Xbox 360 console.
The console will recognize the wireless adapter and will walk you thru the wireless network setup. Be sure to have your WEP key (if encryption is used) for your router before you start this process.
This adapter works well - I am using one and regularly play Modern Warfare 2 with multiple chat sessions. There is no noticable difference between my wired network connection and this wireless network connection.
Possibly you have to tell the laptops to connect manually - if you look at your wireless networks you should see your router listed and there should be a connect button - usually once a network is connected manually it "remembers" and connects automatically the next time. That can also usually be set in the properties for the connection to do auto connect. It all depends on the settings each PC has to allow connections.
Check your device setting on the adapter and make sure they are set to get IP automatically. The check the router and verify that it is set to assign address by DHCP and that you have not exceeded your capacity. Some providers may have set a limit and the new device is not getting an address because there is not a free address. Your other option would be to assign the IP manually and connect. You might also try changing the channel your router is using to communicate on. This has been an issue with channel 6 on Cisco routers and HP machines in my area.
1) Go to the computer that is connected directly to the Linksys router.
2) Open up Internet Explorer (or your favorite browser).
3) In the address bar, where it says "http://www...." clear out everything in there and type in the following numbers:
Press "enter" on your keyboard. This will open up a dialog box asking for your username and password. Try leaving the username blank, and type in "admin" for the password.
Now you're in a web page that controls your router. Look for the Wireless section, and make sure wireless is enabled. Check for wireless security as well, because you may need to enter a long number in your computer once it finds the router.
1.uninstall the driver
3.in the windows..run the cd driver of WUSB54GSC and install...next..next...after that..restart computer...
4.in the windows..insert your linksys usb wireless device...and start using your wireless..
First put in the cd that came with the wireless USB adapter. Close the auto setup page(we will use windows wireless network manager which works better with windows firewall . Plug in the wireless adapter and the laptop will automatically install the driver. If for some strange reason it asks you to install new found hardware, follow the promts and install manually and select cd and the directory the WG1111 drivers are located. Press ok and wait for install. Restart the computer.
After restart the computer will come up with a caption New Wireless Networks found. Double click on the wireless Icon in the bottom left hand corner. It will open a seperate screen with all wireless connections avaliable to you. Might be 1 or more networks, depending on whether your neighbours have wireless networks. Anyway find your specific wireless network could be for example NetGear, Dlink, or my home network. Click on connect your wireless connection. Another smaller screen will appear with Key in your password twice( WEP key or WPA key) Key in your key or password twice and apply or ok. It will connect and close screen. Restart computer! After restart the computer will pick up your connection automatically and your ready to go on line. If you move your mouse down to the icon with wireless network in bottom left hand corner it will show your wireless connection in a caption stating the connection name and how strogn signal is. Connection complete. NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE A WIRELESS MODEM OR WIRELESS HUB CONNECTED TO YOU MODEM TO USE THE WIRELESS WG1111. THANKS!
Connect the home wireless network router box to the main PC through an ethernet cable with the PC powered off and the home wireless router powered off, then power on the PC & the router. Vista should locate the new wireless network and follow the windows vista network setup procedures. After the wireless network has been detected you then while the second PC's power is shut off you connect dongle adapter to the PC power on and XP will locate the new adapter. You will probably have to enter your networks pin for the connection.
