I have a Goodman heat pump and the condenser fan and compressor will not switch on. The board green light says improperly grounded or flame sensor not sensing flame (both are incorrect). The AUX heat (gas)...

Does the indoor fan run? Place the fan switch in run. If it doesn't run then the transformer could be bad. Also, there could possibly be some high and low pressure switches that would keep you from getting the 24vac to the contactor. First rule out the thermostat by removing the face and installing a jumper wire between the R and Y terminals. This should make the outside unit run. If it does then your thermostat is not passing 24vac to the unit and should be replaced. If it doesn't run with the jumper in, then your problem is in the outside unit. Trace out the yellow wire from the thermostat in the outside unit and check the components that the wire goes through (high and low pressure switches). Let me know what you find so I can offer more help if needed.

Check for power to the unit. If power exists, check your low voltage. Do you have 24volts to R & C at your thermostat?

Goodman GS9 propane furnace inducer motor runs continuously

it sounds like the low temp limit switch, the one that cools the furnace down with the burner off and the thermostat open, when it cools to a point the fan stops, the other switch in burner area turns burner off/on, hope this helps

Furnace will not shut off after the setting is reached. have changed thermostat. Temperature reading goes down on thermostat, furnace still runs. Model : Goodman furnace,gmh95/gch9

Check if your thermostat is set on 'o fan' setting.
If it is, trey to set it on 'Auto-fan' instead.
since it seem as if the heating does go off, only the fan may be running continuously.
this is possible if the thermostat is incorrectly set or installed.
good luck.

Older model Goodman gas package unit

It sounds like it is still receiving a "call" for heat from the thermostat. First check that the thermostat is set for gas heat and not electric.(There may be a jumper or dip switch on the back). Read the directions with the thermostat.

Secondly, Verify that the wiring at the thermostat is correct. (R- to red, W to white, G to green etc.)

Third, If the first two do not fix the problem, then there is definitely a problem in the thermostat wire between the furnace and the thermostat. (usually the "R" and "W" wires will be crossed or shorted to the sheet metal around the furnace. You may just have to replace the entire wire. Best of luck!
