Question about Electric Grills & Sandwich Makers
I've never heard of a spray-on teflon(tm) coating that you could just apply like a coat of paint. It has to resist repeated high-temp use, and I have to believe there would be significant surface prep with some very nasty chemicals.
I think you're either looking at replacing the parts, or junking the machine.
Based on your comments above, I'm not sure who you contacted as "the manufacturer". If you didn't contact Salton, Inc. customer service site (contact info. below), I'd try contacting them for parts or manual. If they don't have them, they should know where to send you (though if they don't, I'd seriously wonder about the company).
And click on "George Foreman" (lower-right portion of the page), it redirects you to a secure webpage where you can register.
Part of the page reads:
