I tried everything to fix the 1001 error, and finally fixed it by simply uninstalling silverlight, then RUNNING THE INSTALLER AS ADMINISTRATOR. Boom.

I am getting a error message that my broswer is not compatible for netflix. Everything has been fine for months. I am told it is my Netflix player

Most earlier Windows-based computers (up to Windows 8) use Microsoft Silverlight as the default Netflix player. Sometimes, Silverlight becomes corrupted.
I was able to fix this problem on one of my computers by DELETING Silverlight using the Control Panel window, clearing Internet cache from my browser, then returning to Netflix and selecting a title to stream. The first time you do this, it Netflix will automatically push the re-installation of Silverlight. This should f ix your problem.

When I select Netflix it goes to a lt. blue screen with a box stating there has been an internal error, and try again later.

1) NetFlix requires Microsoft Silverlight plug in.
Do you have it?
Check this Microsoft site to check if you have the updated version and how to install if you do not.
2) Have you tried to get onto NetFlix with a different browser?
Internet Explorer, Firefox ect

How do I fix errors?

Netflix uses Microsoft silverlight instead of flash to stream movies etc.the default folder is in the Microsoft ....silverlight....playready folder.when errors occur sometimes delete the contents or cache as this gets corrupted.then restart netflix.the path is usually administration data ....Microsoft......silverlight ....playready but you can just search for the playready location.clear the contents of that folder and it should be good to go.check link below

When I try to load a movie I get an error code n8109. What do I do?

Hi donblate,

The error you're seeing is related to the Silverlight plugin, which Netflix uses to play movies and TV shows on your computer.

For a complete list of fixes for both Windows and Mac, check out the following page on the Netflix Help website.

Netflix error 1810

Try clearing data on browser, each are different so try googling steps to clean or clear data, if this does not work

Silverlight installed to play netflix on computers & laptops might be the problem.
The Silverlight plugin, which Netflix uses to play movies and TV shows on your computer.
This error is usually caused by one of three things:
  • A computer setting preventing Silverlight from storing files it needs to play your movie or TV show
  • An issue with the Silverlight plugin itself
  • An issue with the content you're trying to play.
  • Try re-installing uninstalling then reinstalling silverlight.
Hope it works for you, best of luck.

I can't get netflix to work. error message N8161

2/24/2013 Netflix Error Code N8161, Protection Error Problem became a recent problem on 3 of my five XP computers, one Home Edition, the balance are XP Pro. After trying uninstalling and re-installing Silverlight, all the adobe products and Media Player I finally resolved the problem by uninstalling the current Silverlight 5, restarting the PC and then and installing old version Silverlight 4. I had to search hard to find a site that both still offered it and that I trusted. Just don't let Microsoft Updates or Netflix demand to install Silver light temp you to update. Chrome insists on the Silverlight plug in update - DON'T DO IT. Firefox and IE8 seem OK, at least for now.
