62hmx95, blinking light, powers on then off

When plugged in the green power light flashes (in sets of 3 flashes) 5 or 6 times and the tv powers up, immediately followed by the tv powering down and the light flashing red continuously. I do hear everything inside power up and it sounds like a fan (probably the color wheel?) starts up before the tv shuts back down...How do I fix this?

SOURCE: TV is not powering up and red light keeps flashing

Cyndy, Yes this problem you have is most likly caused by the STR##### regulator IC in the power supply. You probably also have a capacitor or two that may need replacement and the best way to find those would be with an ESR type capacitor checker.. This is not a type of repair that a consumer with no TV experience should fool with. Please seek out a pro to assist you with this repair. Good Luck

SOURCE: Flashing green light

sounds like the bulb is blown. Its the main lamp in the side of the set. you will see a small door there once you take it off there is 2 screws to remove and bulb in its casing will slip out. by looking at the buld you should be able to see if its blown. You should get approx 3000 to 4000 hours from a bulb but if you are a heavy user of this tv with higher contrast the bulbs dont last. i have this model tv myself and ive been told that they are not designed to be run for long periods of time and dont use gaming machines on them. Shame they dont tell us this when we are buying them.. hope this helps you Craig ([email protected]) let me know how you get on

Green light goes off the red light flashes six times ,

Hi,
The Standby/Power light of the TV blinks when there is any internal malfunction in the TV. The self-diagnostic function of the TV will cause the STANDBY light to blink or flash when the television detects an issue. The number of times the STANDBY light flashes corresponds to a specific issue.
Few examples are given below; some of the issues may be resolved without the need for service.
1 blink / 2 blinks / 5 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a power-related problem with your set.
3 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a power-related problem with your set. The set will need to be serviced to allow a technician to determine the specific issue that needs to be repaired. If the power light flashes three times in sequence in a Lamp TV, the lamp cover is not securely attached. Reattach the lamp cover to resolve this issue.
4 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a back light or lamp power problem.
6 blinks: - This indicates that there is some kind of audio problem with your set.
7 blinks: - This indicates that there is a temperature problem with your set. Please check to make sure that the air vents on the sides and back of the set are not blocked or clogged and there is adequate ventilation around the television. We recommend that you check and clean the vents periodically to make sure the set receives adequate air flow. If the problem continues, the set will need to be serviced.
8 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a video-related problem with your set. If the flash sequence is not listed above or the light continues to flash, follow the steps below to perform a power reset:
Try the following steps to check if the issue can be resolved.
Turn off the television.
Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.

If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
If the issue continues to occur, service may be required.

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525 HDTV that suddenly wont turn on. Just has a green blinking light when you hit the power button. Any ideas?

I found this on another website, most likely it is your power supply capacitors.
  1. Press the "reset" button and hold for 10 seconds .... Does TV turn on and blinking green light turn to solid green.

  2. Unplug the TV from it's power source for various times, ranging between 5 minutes and 24 hours..... Does blinking green light continue upon plugging in the TV.

  3. Disconnect ALL devices from the TV; DVD, Tuner, Cable Box, unplug the TV for various duration times .... Does blinking green light continues upon plugging in the TV.

  4. Press Power and Menu buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  5. Press Power and Display buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  6. Insure that no front panel buttons are inadvertently stuck in an "engaged" position.

Diagnosis: If none of the above test resolve the issue, then the failure lies in one of the following:

  1. DM Module Capacitors have FAILED.
  2. DM Module is defective.
  3. EEPROM Board failure
  4. Power Supply failure.
