it has a battery, its about the size of a nickle and is a cr2032, you might have a mouse with a short in it, if your using a PS2 mouse " non usb " it might be shorting out the PSU on start up attempt i would say find another mouse and retry it.

You dont have the correct card in your computer. You may have a PCI card and a PCI II slot or the otherway around. There should be no extra teeth nor extra holes.

Remove the card and get the proper one.

Hi sdd555,

Restart the computer after plugging the USB keyboard into a different USB port, or remove the keyboard in Device Manager and then refresh the system to work around the issue. This will cause the device to be re-enumerated and the driver will be reloaded.

Good Luck,

Mark

My Compaq Evo N400c,the mouse keeps going in differt directions and i need help on how to fix it?

turn over the mouse and see if the is a cover around the ball and turn it counterclockwise this will release the ball dont lose the ball ok now look at the rollers and see if they are really dirty use a stiff object or even a toothbrush works well to get the lint off of the rollers make sure you clean all of them then put the ball back and put the cover back on and try it it swhould be better now good luck !!!!

Ethernet Drivers for Compaq Evo for XP

This should work.

And just to add that your system specs are really old and you should think about upgrading. 128 mb ram upgradable to 2 gigs.

Integrated 4x agp graphics...you should be able to install a new agp graphics card.

Or you should buy a new computer if you dont know how to build your own which can be tricky and expensive if you cant reuse many parts.
