I'd read through this microsoft tech page, it should help you diagnose the problem http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-system/status-0xc00000e9/53c26f2d-6880-49dd-b907-512c29b88c87
there's also the chance that your hard drive sata connection is not completely secure.

Your laptop only support Win XP due to hardware requirements.

sciberteach:
Go in the BIOS, in the boot sequence make your DVD player as the 1st number device to boot from, restart your machine and do follow the article (you should know the admin password to go into the system drive):
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545
Note: If you are too overwhelmed then your Product recovery DVD will give you your original OS and all settings back.
Good luck!

Reinstall the driver, or uninstall the driver and do a fresh install with the correct drivers, check if the usb2.0 drivers are installed.

Ah , that simple means you have some corrupt files.....we can try a couple of things before getting too dirty:
md tmp
copy C:\windows\system32\config\system C:\windows\tmp\system.bak
delete C:\windows\system32\config\system
copy C:\windows\repair\system C:\windows\system32\config\system
md tmp
copy C:\windows\system32\config\software C:\windows\tmp\software.bak
delete C:\windows\system32\config\software
copy C:\windows\repair\software C:\windows\system32\config\software
This should get you back on your feet, if not let us know and I can give you some further assistance!

Hello and thank you for using Fixya's services.
The only option here is to restore your computer to factory settings. You will lose all of your information including pictures, music, etc.
Are you running Windows Vista? If so, turn the computer on, press F4, choose advanced and you will see the option to do a factory restore. You can aslo try the other options first such as windows restore and it may fix the file.
Last resort is the factory restore but you are at that point.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi,
To install Windows 7 no need for RAID driver. If you face issues in installing Windows 7 disable RAID in BIOS, install Windows 7 and then install RAID driver.
