Question about Frigidaire Gallery 30" Self-Cleaning Freestanding Gas Convection Range - White
I've had my new Frigidaire, self cleaning gas range w/ convection oven for a week.(model# FGFL87GSF)....used regular bake successfully; tried to use convection option last night and although the display will show the fan icon spinning (as it's supposed to in convection, or "speed bake" mode) the fan inside the oven doesn't turn on, nor do I hear any motor sounds.
I called the service # on my manual and they asked me to trip the circuits of my house and then re-start the oven afterward.....I did.....same result: no fan. They gave me two "authorized" repair companies to call and one is out of my service area and will charge me to come out here (I just bought the oven on the 11th; I'm not willing to pay anything to fix my fan!) and the other is nearby but can't schedule me for 2 weeks. The oven works, just not the "speedbake/convection" mode and I'm wondering what could be wrong with it and if maybe anyone would have suggestions as to what I could try in the meantime. Or should I just leave it alone. Thanks!
Found this site cuz I had the same problem- as your purchase was 4 years ago- not sure that I'll help you... But help others who are stumped... I pushed the QuickBake button to preheat then to turn the fan on I pressed it again... ( actually a couple times messing with it...) Once it gave me a " double beep" and sometimes just a single beep but none the less, the fan turned ON!!! Good luck!

As this is a "warranty" Repair keep track of all conversations and make sure you get a case number from the manufacture. This can only be repaired by the "authorized" repair service representative. Make sure it is repaired within the warranty period or return the unit to the store where you purchased it. Sorry there is not quick fix for this one.

Tips for a great answer:
Good Afternoon Gwen - Try reprogramming the range by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn the unit back on. If issue persists, then the unit could possibly be experiencing an issue with a wiring failure, EOC (electronic oven control), sensor probe and/or faulty bake or broil element. I would strongly recommend consulting a professional to narrow down the precise issue before investing in parts that may or may not be the root cause.

Hi michell51238 - From what you are describing it sounds like the range may possibly have a faulty light switch or wiring failure that only a professional can repair. I personally recommend consulting a certified technician for a proper diagnosis and to move forward accurately.
