I was using my Horizon Treadmill T1201, and in the middle of my workout my circuit breaker was tripped and lost power in my room. When I got power back, i turned on my treadmill and it reads a 5101 error for a second, then if i try to start it up again the belt isnt moving (as if the moter doesnt want to go). Everything still lights up though and it will incline too, just no motor or belt movement. Is the motor fried or a circuit board?

Dear Sir:
You have a big SHORT CIRCUIT inside from your machine.

1) Test the input voltage and see the c. breaker reset 2) Test the fuse inside with your DVOM. 3) See if some wires is loose and tight 4) See if there are some component burn 5) Test the input voltage motor, if there are the motor is faulty 6) Test the output voltage for input voltage motor is there are NOT the board is FAULTY.

Of course you must sHURE the outlet from wall is o.k test the ground wires, and see any loose wires, or touching between them. DO NOT USE ANY EXTENSION CORD for your treadmill.

sincerely. God bless you

SOURCE: Hi. I have a

hi.

the circuit breaker probably only covers the motor anyway, and if this is the case then the problem has been isolated already.
it sounds like the motor has burnt out, and there is a short in it somewhere. the best (and safest) thing to do is to remove the motor and either just replace it, or have it tested by an electrician.
most repair shops will happily test a motor for free if you take it to them. it should only take a few minutes.
take the circuit breaker to them as well, as it is possible to have a faulty circuit breaker.

please feel free to ask if you need more advice.

hope this helps

How come the circuit breaker keeps tripping when i push the start button on my treadmill

Before you give up on the unit check the AC wire (while unplugged) at the way to the control panel and or motor. It could be defective somewhere along the way especially where it passes through a hole or up through metal tubing.

Horizon CST3.6 stopped while running. No power to entire unit.

hi,
There is a circuit braker near the main power ON switch. If it is in OFF position put it in to ON. Then start the treadmill. If the circuit breaker again trip to OFF then the motor controll IGBT is faulty. You have to replace the IGBT or the motor control board. The IGBT will look like one in the picture.

Hi. I have a Horizon T-62 treadmill. It stopped working during a workout and my son smelled an electrical burning smell and saw small puff of smoke. I removed motor cover and reset circuit breaker then...

Unfortunately it sounds like the motor has burnt out and would require replacing.

As this treadmills come with a 10 year warranty on the motor if you've not had it for that long the you need to contact Horizon Fitness at the link below.

http://www.horizonfitness.co.uk/6/service/

If they're unable or unwilling to help you then please ask for further assistance and I'll see what I can do.

A replacement motor is in the region of $400 + fitting, but you could possibly fit it yourself.

The unit has a circuit breaker near the on/off switch on the front of the machine. The power surge may have tripped this circuit breaker and it needs to be reset.

If this doesn't solve the problem, Horizon's customer service number is 1.888.993.3199.

Hope this helps.

A treadmill has a high current draw -- it should be on a dedicated 15 amp-circuit -- if sharing a cricuit, it's not unusual, from time to time, for it to trip a breaker or blow a fuse in the main panel.

Need to reset circuit breaker

Hi,

  • 1 Turn off the light switches and unplug appliances in the room that has lost power.
  • 2 Find your circuit breaker box and open the cover.
  • 3 Locate the tripped breaker. Circuit breakers are small, usually horizontal switches labeled by the areas of the house they serve (for example, "kitchen," "bathroom" and so on). The tripped circuit breaker will be in the "off" position or in a middle position between "on" and "off."
  • 4 Reset the breaker by moving it to the full "off" position and then back to "on." That may clear an overload and return power to the room. If the breaker re-trips, you may have too many lamps and appliances plugged into the circuit; a damaged cord or plug; a short circuit in a receptacle, switch or fixture; or faulty wiring.
  • 5 Identify and correct the malfunction before resetting the breaker.
