The in dash CD player accepts a disc but does not play. It will show track number but it's stuck on 00:00 then it sim0ply ejects the disc. What could be wrong?

i know this may sound dumb but did you check the cd for scratches or fingerprints?
is this a cd that you burned from the computer? if so is it the correct type and in the correct format..
Sometimes when burning cd's on the computer depending on what software you are using if the bitrate is set to high (above 128Kbps) then the cd will not play on normal cd player
Also when burning cds on the computer the session must be closed completely before it can be played on a regular cd player

Try a brand new store bought type cd and see if it works if it still does not play then it is possible that the laser has somehow become "out of alignment" and that is too difficult to fix and better to be replaced

But by your description it sounds more like the cd is dirty or scratched

It is also possible that the stereo is wore out or malfunctioning

hope this info helps

I have a peugeot 207cc and I had a peugeot cd changer(it is actually a Blaupunkt)installed. My problem is that the cd changer always starts from cd 1 track 1 on initial startup and does not remember which...

Hi,

I would venture that the main B+ wire of the Blaupunkt CD Changer is not connected to an always on B+12 such as the positive terminal of the battery. This wire is responsible for memory/location/track last play retention. The other B+ of the CD Changer is the remote trigger on which is fed by and from the head unit. This in effect makes the unit operate with two (2) B+,an always on and a triggered on.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Turn the engine off and cd starts from the start

I work at a stereo shop in Cali and it's can be some thing verry easey check your radio memory fuse. this can be found under your dash or under your hood. check all your fuse, it mite not be lable Radio, try acc, dash light, opt. these will be your best bet. Is your radio a factory unit or after market? If after market check to see if your unit haves a fuse in line on the Yellow wire. I hope this help please let my know if you need more help.

My car cd player skips when it gets to track 8,9, etc...ok til then. tried cleaning cd from memorex no help

Sounds like you might need a replacement. It could be installed at an angle causing the cd to rub to close to the lense or the lense was bumped out of alignment. IF you are able to pull it from your console try setting it in a level position and trying to play track 10. Or try using a diffrent disk. If its a burned cd, then possibly the formats cant be read. Although it sounds like the laser is weak or possibly out of line, a replacement will be your best bet and will save you time and the hastle of testing.Unless its a premium in-dash dvd system and you are willing to part with it, go to your local store and pick up a newer, sleaker cd player for yourself. Mabye something new wont hurt
