Please help Problem with a tk2700 in that the display as it goes blank when in use, the buttons beep but cannot open the till draw as there is no response from the cash button. The display works if you turn it on/off whilst holding the receipt feed button. is it terminal?

One long, two short is the POST beep code that indicates something is wrong with your display adapter (e.g. your video card).

Make sure your video card is plugged into your computer firmly. If it is an onboard card, you may need to get an external video card and plug that in to test if that is your problem.

It sounds like you have a flat, or faulty backup battery. The machine has probably lost all programming. This is common if the machine has been stored.

Try this:

Turn key to program.
Turn power off at wall.
Hold JOURNAL FEED.
Turn power on at wall.
When you see '000000000' or 'LLLLLLLLLL' type 21151 (for Europe), or type 12300 (for USA) then press SUBTOTAL

It usually means the drawer wiring has been shorted out at some stage and the internal fuse (most models have a drawer fuse on the main board) has blown. Occasionally the drive transistor may have blown open also. If you want to have a go at it yourself and save some money, C-tech has a service manual here:
