Had to reload Windows XP, but could not find PCI and sound drivers. I used the driver CD but would not work?

How did you reload Windows XP? Did you use the recovery CD shipped with the computer from the manufacturer, or did you use a Windows XP CD?

If your computer had Windows XP preinstalled on it and you are not using the manufacturer's restore CD, you will have to go to the manufacturer's website and download drivers from there, if they are available.

Hello.
1st Did you reinstall the sound card drivers?
they can be dowloaded from the manufacture websight.
2nd Is sound devices listed in device manager.
If not, you may need to remove panel from cpu unplug pc first.
Remove sound card and install it into another open slot.
If slot is not available put back into original slot.

CAN'T INSTALL WINDOWS XP. The XP disk will reformat system and load window files, but after auto reboot it just stops and then wants to reload windows again from the beginning. ?????

The first time, insert the Windows CD-ROM, and start the reinstall.
Just before the auto-reboot, remove the CD-ROM, so that it will boot from the newly-formatted disk-drive, and continue with the rest of the installation.

I have tried to reformat my scsi HDD with windows XP home, it asks me to install drivers in my A drive. I have no A drive and what drivers do I install?

IT MIGHT HAPPEN THAT THE WINDOWS XP VERSION YOU USED HAS NO SUFFICIENT DRIVERS FOR YOUR COMPUTER TO RUN AS EXPECTED. PLEASE TRY TO USE YOU MOTHERBOARD CD TO INSTALL ALL BASIC DRIVERS. IF THE PROBLEM PERSIST, GO TO CONTROL PANEL- DEVICE MANAGER- AND UNINSTALL ALL DRIVERS. TRY TO FIND FOXCOM MOTHERBOARD CD.IT IS USUALLY COMPATIBLE WITH MOST MOTHERBOARDS TO INSTALL FOR YOU ALL THE NECESSARY DRIVERS.

THANK YOU,

I reformat my desktop computer with windows xp svc pack 2 . the problem have no sound . the motherboard is asustek model p4pe-xte .kindly give me solution

Hi,
If you have formatted your computer then the problem might be because the drivers for sound are not yet installed.
Please install the sound drivers and that should take care of the issue.
Right click on "My computer" --> Properties --> Hardware tab --> Device Manager
Under device manager, check the sound devices.. there might be a red cross (X) or Question mark (?) or a exclamation mark (!) indicating problem with the drivers .. just right click on the device and select update drivers and that should take care of it or if you have a sound driver CD/DVD, insert the same in the optical drive and install.

Let me know if that helps.

Regards,
Srinivas
