You need to open up the unit as if repalcing a cartridge and get a torch and really look hard for the jam it can be really tiny. Look in and under cartridge roller (paper roller too) and is the cartridge aligning itself when you open the unit so thta acartridge can be changed? Good luck.

Turn off the printer. Open the Rear access door and clean the rollers with lint free cloth ( upwards just like the paper is rolled )

This should fix the issue.

Canon Mp780 error code 6A00

6A00 is not a jam error, it is an error of the purge assembly not cycling properly. Many times a paper scrap jammed in the capping assembly or the squeegee assembly caught on the filter assembly. Usually worn out gears and dried ink so that replacement of the purge assembly is the best fix.

MP780 "check printer"

5200 is a printhead error, you may just need a new printhead. They do wear out, and just like a light bulb, they go out when you least expect. The part number is QY6-0049-000.

Says it has a paper jam but there is no paper jam

Paper jams can be tricky to solve. The paper is usually stuck inside the printer mechanism so even if there is no visible paper jam, you will still get the paper jam error. Try this:

1. Turn off your printer
2. Open all trays and remove any paper stuck there
3. Locate the button to open the printer, open it and remove any paper stuck there also.
4. Repeate the above step for all buttons that you can find to access the inside of the printer
5. Close all doors and put back all trays
6. Turn on your printer

My PIXMA MP780 is still flashing check the printer then press ok - an error msge ##357 keeps coming up. what does this mean pls?

This is an error in the position of the paper feed unit.
First, make sure there is no paper jam anywhere in the machine.. look inside, rear, where the paper tray (output) is, etc to see if you find any shreds or torn paper that may have gotten stuck and you didn't see.Look carefully in the zone of Purge unit, using flashlight in the right side on printer.Look in the sheet feeder too. If this not help your printer need service.

Pixma MP780 paper jam

Sandra, on the feed swich which way is the arrow pointing to the front feeder? or to the back feeder? Get a bright flashlight and inspect the back very carefuly. I had the same problem and found a label off of a shirt inside, don't ask me how it got there I havent a clue. But it did fix the problem. You can also try turning it on and off a few times.

If the arrow is pointing to the front paper feeder then the jam is in the front, if it is pointing to the rear that is where there is a problem. Hope this will help. Leo

Canon mp780

Normally this can be caused by
1.) damaged gears
2.) damaged feeder motor
3.) damaged paper holder(the pins that grab the paper)

in any of the above cases you will need to take apart to see what the problem is.. if its the motor then you can change it..
if it with the feeder it self id suggest you consider buying a ney one,, even if you manage to change the gears or the feeder pins you may never be able to get it to pull correctly, eighter pulling twisted or constantly causing paper jams.. The choice is your but i'd say buy a new one
