Trunk lid closer will not work, fuse is good.

The trunk lid closer on my 1992 Olds 98 Regency Elite won't close the trunk. I checked the fuse and it is good.

If I remove the trunk lid closer motor and worm gear will the trunk close all the way or does the closer motor and gear have to be replaced?

    I have a 1993 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight and the trunk lid closer works intermittently. What needs to be done to make it work all the time? Currently the trunk will not shut.

Prbably looking at replacing the motor and gear assembly, gm had lots of problems due to slamming of the lid too hard

Check the latch - it may be either broken or may accidentally be in the closed position while the trunk lid is open. Look at the latch to make sure it is working when you have someone press the trunk lid release.

Trunk release for 98 pont gp no power, can't find the fuse and the switch itself was checked and was good
Check trunk release solenoid for power and ground when applied from switch. If power and ground ok, then release solenoid is the problem in the trunk lock mechanism. If misssing power or ground, then electrical diagnostics will be required

The trunk motor won't work
Hi!!

Remove motor from trunk and test it using jumper wires from the battery.

You can get a used one for $20 at the junk yard or a new one at the dealer for about $80.
