Hi I am trying to hook up additional speakers to my sony mhc-gx250 but have found myself to be unsuccessful. I tried to plug them in where the normal speakers go and it works for about 30 seconds and then cuts off am i drawing to much power, If so is there a way to fix this? Please respond with any solutions or suggestions thanks. Dalton

- thanks i appreciate the speedy response you completely answered my question
hello my frien let me tell you that the system wont accept more speakers or diferent loads per ohm if the total load says 16 ohms by channel thats the total can handle so if you ad more speakers the system turns off before it burns or or have a severe damage........saludos
i have multiple speakers hooked up, i just spliced them all in a parallel circuit (wire going to one, connected to another wire to another speaker) and it works perfect.

I got this system off Ebay. It is the MHC-GX250. It played fine for about an hour. I put a CD in and it played for a few minutes, then something popped and it quit. Now it just grinds and have a problem with the drawer opening also. Everything else was playing ok, then after shutting it off and turning it back on, all I get is the Standby flashing on the display. I can unplug the unit, plug it back in and the system will turn on. But it will not turn on again after shutting it off. It goes back into Standby. I have tried the reset operation, but that does nothing. Need some help. thanks
