I can't get the on-hold music to work for our 7731

I am trying to set up the on-hold music for my Panasonc KX-T7731. We've set up the radio to the telephone system in the back, but when I press 1 on my dial pad nothing happens. How do I set up the on-hold music?

Thanks so much for helping...we have the Panasonic KX-TA824. I tried the program 111, but the phone doesn't seem to be accepting it (probably because I'm doing something wrong). When I put in program 111 the phone reads "Pref. Out: No", beeps & then does nothing. If I push program 62 (won't let me type 626), the phone reads "Jack01<=>EXT101 (which is my extension). I'm assuming I'm missing something w/the programming. Thanks again.

There could be a number of reasons and it depends on your phone system.

In a TA series, you need to turn on Music (program 111). Additionally, in an 824 you need to enable it per phone (pgm 626).

In the TAW/TDA/TDE family, it has to be turned on (710/711/712), and the code for music is *7511 (0 turns it off).

In the TD series, you use program 803 to select a source or none.

Those are the most recent Panasonic systems. If it still doesn't work, post back with the exact model number of your system cabinet and I'll check if there's different instructions.

An 824 requires the computer software plugged into the USB port, or you can program those features from the phone plugged into jack 1 AFTER you go into system manager's programming. By default, it's PROG *#1234, but yours may be different.

How can i turn on music on hold Panasonic kx-t7731. i dont have anything on now

Music on hold is connected to the phone system controller. The audio from the source (usually a MOH radio) is connected to the MOH port on the controller.

New employee shut off ringer on our phones how do we turn it back on? panasonic kx-7731

There's only the adjustment on the left side of the phone (a 3 postion switch). The next model up has a (you can't turn off the ringer) mode, but it's not available in any analog set.

Does the Panasonic KXT 7731 2-line have a music/message on hold port on it's KSU?

All Panasonic systems that the 7731 would plug into has an MOH port. You provide 8 or 600 ohm sound levels and do some programming to make it work.

How do I set up my voice mail or know if I can acquire messages? I have a Panasonic KX-T7731 phone system!

You have a 7731 phone. The phone system could be any one of 18 Panasonic cabinets, but probably a TA series. Voice mail could be a BV, TVx box, or central office based. If CO based, an 824 will listen for the stutter dial tone and light the MW light on a phone. There are instructions to make that work.

So, try editing your question to give a bit more information and it makes it easier to give you an answer.

I can't get the msg light to go off on my Panasonic KX-T7731 even though there are no msg's

What happens when you dial 700-0 on the intercom?

7731's work on 18 different Panasonic models, but they were first delivered with the later TA series phone systems. You could press the MESSAGE key and look at the display to see where the message came from, but I don't think you can erase it on a 7731. So, just record the fact, then 700-0 and poof. All gone.

I have a panasonic kx-t7731...having trouble setting the speed dial...any help would be appreciated. the users guide information doesn't seem to work. thank you!

A 7731 phone will function on any one of 18 or so different Panasonic system cabinets. Now, which "user guide" are you looking at? SYSTEM speed dial is set from the first extension or the maintanance console of the phone system. PERSONAL FEATURE (speed dials on the right side of the phone) are pretty much universally programmed by PROGRAM button, 9+ number STORE.

What do your instructions say?

Simplify the changing of the timeon the Panasonic phone KX-T7731

There are a few types of phone sytems that work with the kxt 7731. these instructions should handle most of them.

3.- Enter program # 000 4.- Press "SPEAKER" button 5.- Press "FORWARD/DND" button to change to the hour selection 6.- Press "TRANSFER" button and enter the hour 7.- Press "FORWARD/DND" button to change to the minutes parameter 8.- Press "TRANSFER" button and enter the minutes 9.- Press "FORWARD/DND" button to change to the AM/PM parameter 10 Press "MUTE" button to select AM or PM 11.- Press "STORE" button (listen for 1 tone if procedure was executed correctly / 3 tones if procedure failed) 12.- Press "HOLD" button 13.- Press the "PROGRAM" button on the face of the phone

Panasonic KX-T7731 phone cuts off/mutes on hold music

My guess is that you have a KXT-624 or 824 system.Follow the instuctions here: http://www.onholdplus.com/products/7000series_connect1.html

Then, if you get lucky, when you go to any system phone and press "1" without picking up the handset, the music will play.

If it doesn't and you don't get MOH, you may have to do some programming in system program 111.
