My son's Phillips 42" Plasma TV has blue pixels showing up on the screen. What might caise this problem? Is it expensive to have it repaired? I don't have the model #.

Oops I posted my reply as a solution. I was trying to resond to your question avtech. As I wrote I do not have the model #. It's a flat screen Plasma and there are a bunch of blue pixels in the bottom corner (not sure which side) and some started showing up in the middle. They disappeared when he had it turned on tonight.

Thank you Avtech. We'll give it a try.

What model is it? Brand name? Is it a LCD or Plasma (flat panel) or Rear Projector LCD or DLP tv? How many blue pixels? Where are they?

Take off the back cover. You will find a small "Digital PCB", it will be hard for you to know the right one, but all you need to do is push in all of the connectors to make sure they are all tight. If this does not fix the tv you will need to replace the "Digital PCB". This will be the first part to try and replace. The second is the panel. This part is very costly. You would be better off buying a new tv. The real bad news is that I can not try to give you a place to buy parts with out the Make and Model.

This is really a problem to some Mitsubishi projection TVs.

This LCD Projection Television uses three LCD panels to create the screen image. This technology creates the image using small dots, or picture

elements (pixels). Your LCD Projection TV is manufactured to a high level of performance and quality, in fact, 99.99% perfect in the number of

properly functioning pixels. As in other display technology, sometimes a pixel is continuously active, inactive or the incorrect color. Our standard is
clear; MDEA warrants only that the percentage of properly functioning pixels will be not less than 99.99% of all pixels.
This is the company says about this problem. Your set need service care fro authorised service center.

I have a Maxent MX-50x3 50 inch plasma. built may 2006, bought at best buy in april 2007. Allways has occasional red pixels randomly when switching inputs. Now we have vertical red lines and pixels and...

if you take the back cover off the tv, you will see in a white screw in almost every board, those are called pot. (potentiometer).
if you can get to meter the Ve. Vs. and Vset. start to screw or unscrew those white screw according to what the label says.
usually the ones who gives you the blue and red dots are the white screw on the right of the center panel, and the one on the right of the right panel right under the metal thing to hang on the wall.
