Question about Panasonic NV-GS50 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

Tracking? The last time I used the camera to record a concert, it was fine in Greece. I'd played back the concert here in the UK and it was fine. Yesterday, I'd charged up the 3 hour battery, put in a new tape and it looked like someone was skating on the heads. I lost a whole concert ( I'm a classical singer) I've not dropped or damaged the camera at all in the meantime. I put in two brand new tapes, and tried running off the mains.. same result. Help?!! thanks

Download the tape onto your computer into a software editing program DV's are digital so there might just be something hanging up or dust. Then when you burn your disk make sure that the quality is set on high and have it double check the data before writting. This should collect the loose fragments and put them toghather.

hi there is nothing to do by yourself. you need to take your md player to the next authorized service. seems the optical device that reads the discs has worn out, compareable to turntables you need to change the `needle` ;)

I recorded videos at a concert with the new nikon coolpix L810 and the sound on the video is horrible. What is causing the noise in my video? sounds like wind is blowing or a crackling noise

The problem is the microphone on the camera. The mic on the camera is for recording sound in more normal environments. The sound level on a typical concert is much higher than normal, and the mic on the camera just doesn't have what it takes to record sound at those levels.

One possible solution is to record the sound with a dedicated audio recording device, and combine the video and audio in your video editing software.

I took my camera to a concert last year, and since then every time i use it where there is any loud music playing the pictures come out all blurry. u cant make out the picture, and the colour is all mixed...

I'm going to go out on a limb here and put the blame on you. It's entirely possible that during the loud music, you do not realize that you move the camera when you press the shutter button...plus, add in the fact that most concerts take place in the evening in darker environments that cause your camera to use slower shutter speeds and you end up with blurry pics.

Hello, I want to buy a Toshiba RDXV-60 Combi VHS/DVD Recorder in the United Kingdom and use it in Greece. Can you tell me if it will work here in Greece?

Hello,
Yes, that is true. Some UK electronic's sound is different from other regions. There was a TV my friend bought, it's from UK the TV didn't bring out sound. The sound had to be converted before it worked. Electronics repairers has a way of converting the sound to work with your region.
So I would advise you shouldn't buy the Toshiba RDXV-60 Combi VHS/DVD Recorder because if you do, you are taking a risk.
When you get to Greece you can get a Toshiba RDXV-60 Combi VHS/DVD Recorder.
I hope this is clear.
Good luck.

maybe you should just state it (that you forgot to change the timezone) and they will make the proper calculation to adjust the right time..

Hi, I have a sony tvr 140E. When I try to play back a tape that was recorded from another digital 8 camcorder I get blue screen. when I play back a tape recorded on my camcorder plays fine. Any...

This smacks of the same problem that the old VCR's used to have. One of you are out of sync. The tape records on a portion of the tape in a sort of straight line track. Think of it as your track is down 1/16" from the top. The other camera tracks it's video down 1/8" instead. That's why in playback it can't read it. The only cure is a realignment. Nimsgame

Tascam cd-rw750 - while recording from another CD player (using digital coax connection), machine records for some time and then just "jumps out of record mode" and goes back to the beginning like nothing...

1. First problem: "like nothing is recorded". IS something recorded or has it been left in Pause Mode so long (instead of Recording) that it just got impatient and time out?

2. Get yourself a couple of CD-RW Digital Audio discs to play with until you're past this learning curve/problem scenario. That way you can always erase them and start over without having to discard the disc.

3. Dropouts on playback. Are they repeatable - always at the same place, even on different CD players? If so, the data is bad on the disc. If not, the data is probably marginal.

4. If you have a DVD player, try to play the failed recordings in it. Some DVD players can play back unfinalized CDR's. You may be able to recover the data by copying it back to the CD Recorder from the DVD player. Just be advised that an unfinalized CD-RW may not have 'silence' following the last recorded track due to old data remaining from a previous session, so be ready to pause or stop the recorder when the last track finishes.

5. "Scratches near the outside of the CD". Were these NOT present prior to entering the CD Recorder? Do they seem to coincide with about where the recording may have failed?

6. 20 vs 19 tracks: Is this a constant problem or only when there is a failure during CD creation? If the latter, it would make sense as the last track in isn't technically completed.

It's not tracking -- it's dirty heads -- you can purchase an 8mm head cleaning cassette and use it to cure these problems. Tapes recorded with the dirty heads may still have issues afterwards.
