Question about Sewing Machines
I have a PFAFF 332-260 which I recently acquired from EBAY. I have not been able to test all the functions because this is my first sewing machine. The straight stich seems to be OK. However, I noticed that I'm unable to turn the "stitch width/zig zag" dial/knob to the left. It is completely stuck/glued to #1. I can't move it to 2, 3, 4 or even 5. It just won't move. I tried to spray/soak it with WD-40 and that didn't work either. The lever next to it "needle position" seems to be OK---it's just that freakin' stitch width dial---it won't freakin move :(
Help!!! Somebody please :(

Do you have a manual...if not White will email one to you at your request. Make sure the stitch width is slid or turned all the way over to as narrow as possible. Good luck.

my suggestion is take the machine in to a sewing machine shop
to be check to see if something inside is broken or come loose
knowing the machine is in good working order gives peace of mind
instead of wanting to through it out the window
and get a instruction manual
Go to the singer website for a free pdf manual
Go to the home page
Go to customer service--click on it--it will show a small menu--click on instruction manual
In the box put the model number (example w265) & click search

SOURCE: needle position
Hmmm sounds like an issue I had/have with a singer stylist. There is a knuckle part that connects the zig zag mechanism to the needle bar. Mine had a pin that kept slipping out. When I took it apart (and lost the pin) I also discovered that the "round" holes the pin went into were work out and were more like ovals. The machine is now a parts machine.
