Did you reformat the card or just erase them? If you just erased them they can be recovered. If you reformatted the card you will not be able to recover them.
To recover 'accidently' erased images go to http://lexar.com/software/image_rescue2.html to download Image Rescue. It works!!
There are lots of others that do the same thing from other companies, but they will usually charge you. I trust Lexar and I believe it was free! Fortunately only had to use this once - but it worked! Good luck!

If your camera has a removable memory card, determine what type it is and buy an inexpensive card reader to download pictures from the card. Possibly try another patch cord if memory is not removable. Without knowing model and make of camera, no other advice is possible.

By mistake, I removed the memory card(Scandisk PRO DUO) before clicking the 'eject' icon on my computer. Now my Sony cyber shot tells me to reinsert the card. Did I mess up the card already?

It probably got corrupted. If your pics are safely downloaded to your computer and you don't need them on the card anymore, just format the card in the camera to get it to work again.

I strongly suggest formatting the card in the Nikon. Make sure you download all your pictures from it first, as formatting clears the card completely.

PowerShot A570 IS- accidently erased pictures and video by resetting settings to default. Want them back, haven't taken pictures or video since I made the mistake. Thanks!

If you are using a memory card, take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that are available to help you recover your photos. This blog article reviews and outlines several of the better ones.

Did you use the camera or your computer to erase the pics? Since the pics are safely on your computer, try formatting the internal memory with no card in the camera and then, format the card in the camera.

Tried to take a picture and it says card full. Went to the store to print pictures and there is nothing on the card!!! I cant find all my pics!!!!

Could be a misread:
Start by putting the card in the computer (or hooking up the USB if that's the way you've been uploading the pics to the puter), and let the software find out what's on the card.

Once you have all your pics in the computer, they're safe.
To get prints, you can download them to the same card later, or your thumbdrive.

*of course, if there was a communication error between the camera and card, it's possible that there are no pics...but that's not likely if you setup the card before using it.

With the card back in the camera, go to setup menu and choose "Format" and confirm.
This is the required first step with every new card-camera relationship, and insures clear communications.
This will clean the card and clear any errors the camera had before when the pics were on the card.

Again, to get prints, you can put the card back in the puter and DL them back onto the card.

Unable to view pics

Copy the existing photos on to your PC, switch off the camera. Remove the SD card and format the SD-card using a SD-card reader, this will clear all the card contents. Now try using it in your Camera again. Ideally, you should be able to save photos on this SD card. Other way would be to insert another SD card into your camera and click photos and check whether those photos are being saved into the SD card(this can be done using display option in your digicam.)

Have you tried resetting your camera? To reset your camera, open the battery cover and you should see a small hole inbetween the SD card slot and the battery release switch. Then use a small narrow object (i.e. mechanical pencil with its lead extended) and press into the hole. You should feel it "click" and then hold it for about 3 seconds. Try restarting your camera.

Note: Please backup all the data on your SD card before doing this.

Hope this helps

I assume this means you somehow erased the pictures off your camera card. I had the same problem, did a google search ( I don't remember the details) and found an unerase utility that did the trick in recovering my pictures
