The Op Amp in the unit are oscillating if you hear hiss and if there is distortion they could be bad. This is a job for a Technician to check out. Make sure you are NOT plugging in a CD player output into a Phone input on a receiver or amp. The CD is 1000 time too much voltage.
Its laser pickup assembly might be faulty. Click here to know more about how to clean it. Do it once, and if it do not help you, replace it with same type and number.
A couple of different possibilities here but this is a typical problem when it comes to the MB cd changers. Before ruling the cd changer bad, check the spring settings on the sides of the changer. Make sure they are in the 'H' position since it sits in the glovebox. The Mercedes cd changers don't have a reset button. 95% of the time its the cd changer that is bad when this scenario happens. Its caused by a linkage that gets knocked out of place internally of the cd changer. Also try not to use burned or homemade cd's as they can also cause the cd changer not to read the discs anymore. If your cd changer is brand new or a factory rebuild then the dealer should change it out no problem since MB cd changers are known for this problem. Also the version coding needs to done to configure the D2B fiber optic ring properly.
I would inspect the harness to your unit and see if any wires are not connected..A fully connected harness ensures all functions are working as intended and if any wire that is supposed to be hooked up and isn't then there would be your issue..
Your cd changer is stuck in the read mode and drawing power. Sounds like you need to replace the cd changer before it overheats the wiring and starts a vehicle fire.
Error 99 is CD not up to speed. Either the CD is slipping, Defective CD,
pickup is unable to read sectors and is either dirty pickup or pickup
going bad.
Is it always the same CD you are playing? Is the CD smudged
with finger prints or dirty? If not suspect the CD itself. This
will require Repair or Replace, as E-99 is a classic malfunction &
unit will need to be taken apart, "unless" there is a CD stuck in the
Unit.
If you have loaded a Blank Cartridge & clicked Eject
& found no extra CD, then you will need to have a Reputable Shop
Repair Typically this is the Logic I.C. & / or the Servo Motor. Sometimes you can find the same Unit on E-Bay, Craigs List, etc for less than Repair
Changer Error Codes: E-00: Poor Cable connection. E-01: Magazine not properly set in changer. E-02: No Disc in magazine. E-03: CD does not have selected track number. E-04: Disc is dirty, upside down or unreadable. E-10: No data is recorded on the MD. The player plays the next disc automatically. E-99: Changer malfunction, disc may be caught in machine or changer requires service.
Hope this helps. Your feedback is important and I'll appreciate

Yes, unless you're using self-powered speakers. Then there's the little matter of controlling volume. Otherwise, any amp or receiver that accepts the RCA or digital outputs. Find and read the manual.
I have a model sl-pd847 and experience similar problems to many other submitters. I checked the main pcb and found discolouration around what appear to be 2 (power?) transistors and probably a voltage regulator. After about 4-5 minutes after switch on these get really hot. I suspect that may be the reason why it doesn't work anymore. Worth fixing? I don't think so. This one didn't even play CD-R let alone CD-RW! Get something a bit more up to date I say.
I read enough comments from unhappy TEAC owners with similar problems to learn that the drive motor is to blame and that repair sounds like sending good money after bad. I'm going to buy a Sony changer.
