There's a lot of possibilities why that's happening. post back the error code written after the word 'STOP'. this will give us more clue. then try to boot up your computer by tapping F8 right after turning the computer on. choose safe mode. hit enter for microsoft windows. then once you see your desktop (may look different) hit no to run system restore. then choose a date when the computer last worked. if the restore was successful, it should restart back to how it was before you started getting the blue screen.

Black screen on acer aspire

If you get no display on the laptop at all when you start it, make sure it is not an issue with the display card. If it works, backup all crucial data.

If the laptop is still under warranty, contact Acer and have a technician check it for you.

Some other things that I would try are:
1. Remove the battery, place it back after about 30 seconds and try to restart.
2. Try using the power cord directly unless you already have.
3. If you hear 3 beeps when you start the computer, reseat the RAM modules.
4. Remove the CMOS battery (looks like a coin) and place it back in after about 30 seconds.

***Make sure the laptop is not plugged in while you open it up.

How can i install windows xp on hp compac dc 7900. blue screen error shown during installation

Restart the process again...insert the cd in to the cd rom..restart the computer then you will see a screen which says press ant key to boot from cd...press space bar..the installation will start from the point where it was left when you received the blue screen...

If the blue screen is coming again and again then contact any local tech there might be some hardware issue.

Also make sure while installatng the windows there is no extra peripheral attached with the computer like printer, webcam, mass storage device etc.

I have a Dell Dimension 5100 and the monitor is showing a blank screen. The light on the monitor is flashing green. Everything else seems to be ok as I can hear it starting up.

Hello
Check the data cable (the cable from monitor to CPU), might gone loose, otherwise the monitor need be handled technically for repair.
Good Luck, feel free to contact for more assistance

I have a blue screen an it say it wont load windows

The blue screen is BSOD(Blue Screen Of Death). this happens due to some technical problem in HDD or due to bad sectors in memory. Its time to change the HDD, backup important data and files before its too late.

Need SATA HDD password for acer aspire 5100

When everything gets done loading the screen says:

Unknown Disc
<There is no disk in this drive.>

it gives that error message 4 times on the "select partition" list

Reguardless of what i click (besides Quit) being Install or Delete, I get the Blue Screen of Death

"PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA"
Technical Information
STOP: 0x00000050
setupdd.sys Address F77F8245 base ar F77CA000

I did some research and I came up with possible RAM faultyness, so, I switched the RAM chips from my Acer to the AW (which obviously work, or else i wouldnt be typing this) and i get the identical blue screen error

What bugs me about that specific error is before it even says "Click button to boot from CD" it says RAM cleared... video shadowed etc. etc.

From beginning to end this is what i did:
1. Swapped out new HD
2. Used Utility disc to set-up HD
3. Attempted to install XP
4. swapped RAM chips
5. Attempted again

im at a complete stump to what to do to fix this... any help would be GREATLY appreciated

Slow flashing blue power lite. Monitor shows no

First when you power up the computer press F8 key then enter in enable vga mode.
If you are able to enter then go to start menu->control panel->display property ->settings.
Change screen resolution to 1024*768 then apply and ok.
But if you are not able to see safe mode and other menu.
Then open cpu cabinet .
Refix RAM memory.
Pull cmos cell from motherboard for 10 minutes.
Reattach all connection harddrive.
Open processor fan and processor remove dust from all parts.
Make sure motherboard is not ground with cabinet.
Remove PCI cards if any.
After all above still same then change RAM then try.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

My computer won't boot up - I either get the screen saying start in safe mode, or a Dell screen with little squilly blue lines. When I got it to come up once, then my mouse wouldn't move!

That sounds like the main board has a failure. Your best option is contact Dell for a replacement system board. If your computer is no longer new, you can just purchase another used dell for about 100 bucks (Tower only) at gearxs or 3btech.net, or on google shopping. Before going that route though, contact Dell and have them assist you in diagnosing the issue. A replacement board is about 100-200 bucks, and will fit like a glove.
