MY WEB CAM IS NOT WORKING SINCE I INSTALLED UPDATES IT IS AN ASPIRE ONE MODEL NUMBER IS ZG5

    that solution didnt work as my computer will not let me delete any updates that have been downloaded so im still stuck

Try deleting the complete camera software and drivers, reboot.
And then download the old version again from Acer.
This should work again.

    If your using a different account than the administrator account, try to log in in the administrator account.
    This account doesn't have a password by default. 

    What you need to do to log in the administrator's account is:
    - Log Off
    - Once in the Welcome Screen, press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice to go to the classic log-in prompt.
    - There enter the administrators details and log-in

    from there you should be able to reset all the drivers.

visit creative labs web site and select downloads to download the driver for your web cam . You will be prompted to enter specific information regarding your web cam. Usually the model number and what type of operating system you're using on your computer . Follow the instructions carefully . Usually I find it better to use the save option instead of the run option when the download is finished . Just remember where you save it to . Then , close the browser and all applications before you open the installation program you downloaded . When you open it , all the directions will be displayed . Follow them carefully to install the drivers and software for your web cam .

Hello good day, sir if you have an internet connection you can update your cam and installed it directly. Or the second option is to look for the cam model and try to search it anywhere on the web.

I have a Dell 530 S Dell Inspiron. Its Webcam has stopped working. Any solutions


The very first step is of course to check your web cam connection. Most web cams use the USB port to connect to the PC, so check if your USB cable is properly plugged. For build-in web cams this steps does of course not apply. Many new laptops have a build-in web cam. Also try connecting your web cam directly to your PC instead of through a USB hub (if you are using one).

The next thing is to do is to check your Windows Device Manager and see if the hardware is recognized and installed properly.

It might be that the hardware is recognized as a camera, but the right drivers are not installed. The yellow explanation mark will indicate a problem.
Other devices in Windows XP device manager

If the device is not recognized in Windows XP, Right-click the device, and in the pop up menu select Update Driver Software. Then follow the instructions on screen, but make sure you allow Windows to search the web for updated drivers.

In case no driver for the web cam can be found, you can try a third party driver finding program that scans your PC for installed hardware and allows you to install missing drivers.

If this fails, the next step would be to un install the software that came with your web cam. Use the Add or Remove Programs feature in the Control Panel. If that does not work you can use a third party un installer.

After un installing the software, restart your PC and then reinstall the web cam software. In most cases this will solve the problems. Depending on the software, you might need to unplug your web cam during the software installation.If your problem is not fixed then you have to buy a new one.

Im looking for a free BIOS update as I have just added 1gb of ram and taken out the 512K one. I have an ACER aspire SA80 Desktop PC


BIOS updates are not really necessary unless you're having specific problems. They can sometimes be dangerous to your sysytem to install and not really necessary just because you install new ram. If there is a bios update available for your model it will be at acer's web site. Unless you wanna start learning to fix your own computer and reinstall a lot of software I'd leave the BIOS updates to the professionals.

Driver web cam doesnt work


Please check if the web cam driver is compatible & supports the Operating Systems (OS) installed in your motherboard computer, otherwise get its updated driver CD or thru internet download. regards

Hi I have a Acer Aspire One ZG5. My Son, said his friend used a program called Killdisk and wiped all my partitions away. How can I get my Acer back up and working? Kind Regards Julie


try formatting your computer use a windows os but make sure it is bootable for example windows vista bootable cd. after that try installing the motherboard installer for you to use the full benefit of your computer then try installing an antivirus for security purposes then try making a password for your computer so your son cannot use the computer without your concern. so it wont happen again. hope i helped message me again for any concerns ok

I have an acer aspire one. my web cam is not working. it always says that the cpomputer cannot detect the webcam. how come it cant detect the cam if its a built in camera?i cant use it even in the YM...


i seems that your computer does not installed web came drivers. install it from the cd comes with the pc if you dont have one download from the acer web site.
