Question about Televison & Video

With my Maxent MX50X5, when connecting a Play Station to the HDMI inputs I get "No Support". The sound comes through, but no audio. I have not used the HDMI ports before. The manual says that when using HDMI some parameters may need to be adjusted, but that's all it says - no details or other support.

There is a problem between Maxent plasma TVs and playstation sygnal, lowering down playstation resolution in this case does not help.

Try using the composite cables to connect the playstation, it will work on composite.

I can fix televisions, but this peculiar problem seems to happen on Maxent and Vizio Tv connected to playstation.

If you use the composite cable to connect you do not have the problem.

If you want to know more about this, the only way to proceeid is by contacting Maxent:

DVI to HDMI

HDMI and DVI use the same encoding scheme for video purposes- the only difference is HDMI can carry audio signals and therefore have different connectors- so it is not like the lack of a picture signal is because you are using two different cables (HDMI and DVI). In theory the DVI to HDMI adapter should work.
Is there a possibility that the adapter is defective? Any bent or missing pins?
How long are the cables? If they are of poor quality, a digital signal can be lost at 20 feet. Again, in theory.
The only other thing I can thing of, off the top of my head is to ask, did you change the input selection on your t.v.'s display screen to go from the input source that you get your t.v stations from... to the input source of the Play Station?

How do you get your xbox 360 to play, on a 65'' mitubishi projection tv,its connected but nothing comes on screen when i put a movie in just a blank screen and no sound,if i'm on a channel, the channel...

Hello

The Xbox 360 connects to a TV using either

- COMPONENT (red blue green for video, red and white for audio

- COMPOSITE (yellow for video, red and white for audio)

- HDMI

So, if your TV is on a "Channel", it is not on the correct input to view the Xbox 360.

Check the Xbox and verify which cables it is using to connect to the TV. When you find this, follow the cable to the back of the TV and find the input selection. It should be listed as the type and a number (i.e. HDMI 2, COMPONENT 1).

Have the Xbox on. Use the TV remote and use either the INPUT or the MENU options to change the input to the input that matches the port that the Xbox is connected to.

This should make the Xbox work.

When you are done with the Xbox, use the INPUT or MENU to change back to the tuner to watch TV.

There are generally three HDMI slots at the back panel of an HD TV. Make sure you have connected the PS3 and the Apple TV in two separate slots. Sound will work because you must have hooked it up in Audio IN at the back or if you have connected the red and white audio cables in the front panel , the audio will work only on the camera setting on your TV

How to connect a play station 3 to tv?

Just plug it like a regular DVD player thru HDMI connection and then choose HDMI AV input from your TV to be able to see the screen. You can also use the TV as a monitor by using the S-Video or the VGA input and then put the audio of the PS3 to your Audio system or amplifier.

Which generation playstation are you referring to The PS2 or PS3. The PS2 would be connected with a composite cable by default i.e red white and yellow cable. Connect the cable to the corresponding input on the TV, match color codes. Switch to correct input by using your remote controller. Press the AV button and a list of inputs come's up.Select av1 or av2 and check if you get a picture. If you use a ps3 then same as before press AV button on remote and select appropriate option on screen HDMI,Component or Composite.

I don't have a direct solution but I am having the same problem when connecting (1) my Apple TV (2) my Blu-Ray player, etc. via HDMI. I also have a digital camera that puts out HDMI, and when I hook it up, I get the same story -- video only, no sound through the optical digital output of the TV receiver.

I am guessing that the HDMI inputs were an afterthought on this model, especially since the printed manual doesn't even show or mention the HDMI inputs at all! So my guess is that the TV's receiver does not convert the sound from the HDMI to the optical digital output. It does, however, send the amplified HDMI sound to the stereo speaker outputs on the monitor. It appears that only the digital tuner's 5.1 sound comes out on the optical digital output.

This is what I have observed, for what it's worth.

Will Hitachi 53UWX10B 53 in. Rear ProjectioSupport play station 3

Yes, it will work. Be sure to use input 4 with the 3 rca input cables red/blue/green for video and 2 rca red/white for the sound. You need component video output on the PS3. http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665061579&storeId=10151&INT=M:ak is what you need, if you don't have it already. Here's the thing. The PS3 will work on any set. You can hook it up with the yellow wire and red/white wire for standard def. or 480i. The component cables are for 720 and HDMI for 1080. Your set don't have HDMI, it has component input. The service manuel say's it has 720I available. You can see if the front has HDTV sticker..if it does, them for sure it does. Either way, the PS3 will work on your set. I'm 90% sure it's 720i as well.

Sony KF50we60 hdmi-dvi sound cuts when plugging into a ht-sf2300

DVI = HDMI without the audio connectors. So basically you need to connect your audio in some different way, PS3s allow you to keep your video signal as HDMI and change the Audio signal to component, so that is one way or doing it, not sure if the blue ray players allow you to do this though.
