Take your metal case, and drill holes big enough to fit 5m diameter x 16mm tall screws. Put them all up through the holes and add 4 steel washers to each post. then add 1 nylon washer. >>>make sure you do the penny fix before you place your motherboard inside the case<<< Place your motherboard inside of the case ( you can use tape on the back side of the metal case to hold screws in place; may want to do that before you add washers) add 1 nylon washer then 1 steel washer to each. Take off microsoft's bolts from the heat sinks and re-apply a ssmmmallll amount of thermal paste (size of a piece of rice for the big ones). Attach everything and you will be good to go.

Take 2 pennys, wrap them one way with electrical tape, then turn 90 degrees and wrap them again so no copper is showing. >>You will need 4 sets of 2 pennys<< Flip your motherboard over and peal off the white things with band-aid looking squares on top of them. Peal the band-aid looking squares off and apply your tape-wrapped pennys.

Note: If you do not have these puddy-looking things on your ram chips, Use some hot glue, not a lot though.

You may also need to "bake" your 360. When you are all said and done with applying and bolting things. Take your 360 and put everything in except the fan. Take the fan plug it in its spot, then lay it diagonally from its plug, ontop of the tall cpu heatsink. Turn your xbox on for about 15 minutes. Let it over heat good so it can reset itself flat. Turn if off and let it cool down for about 20 minutes. Put everything back together and enjoy your console as your paid for it! error code 0013 - smile.gif

Did you download the 12625 update from Microsoft and try it from USB? More info please, was the box modded in any way? The update you need is not the latest by far. Download update 2.0.12625.0 here
1 Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.
2 Download the update file.
3 Click Save to save the console update .zip file on your computer.
4 Unzip the file. If you are using Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 or 8, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.
5 Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory of your flash drive.
6 Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.
7 Plug the flash drive into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console.
8 Restart the console.
When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.
Hope this helps

Code(0013)

Error code 0013 means your ram is overheating. This is either cause by a bad fan, which can be replaced for cheap, or a bad solder point, which means you will have to have someone who is an expert at soldering do a reball or rework the chip.

22FB-3151-b200-0700-c000-0013 Put in an xbox mag disk and it screwed up the xbox and gave me this status code

1. Anote second hex data 22FB-3151-b200-0700-c000-0013 and go to http://easycalculation.com/hex-converter.php

2.
Convert it to decimal and get the update number:
Hex:
3151 - Decimal: 12625 Update

3. Go to http://dl.console.se/index.php?dir=Xbox360/uppdateringar/ and seek the correct update. Download it.
(
if not try to locate it on google)

4. Extract $Systemupdate and put it into root of a pendrive formatted in fat32 or a CD

5. Turn off the console and plug the pendrive or insert the CD

6. Turn on the console and wait

7. Enjoy!

Hi! i got those damn three red lights and get an error code 0020 what is wrong??? thank you :)

Unfortunately, the 0020 error means that the motherboard of the console is overheating and bending the board loses contact with the heat sink and GPU (graphics processor unit). If the unit is under warranty, contact Microsoft Xbox support. (The warranty for the 3 red light issues was extended to a 3-year warranty.)

If it is out of warranty, there are a couple of things to try. 1) Modify the X Clamp on at least the GPU; sometimes the X Clamp on the CPU also needs to be fixed. Remove the heat sink and put a better coat of thermal paste on the processors. Then either replace the original heat sink or use a better one. http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/repair/ring_of_light_x-clamp_fix.htm

2) Some people have fixed the problem by heating the entire motherboard with a heat gun to straighten out the entire board. (Protect the capacitors and other parts on the top of the board with towels.)

I hope this helps.

Cindy Wells
(there are other procedures for the X Clamp mod given online; google to find them)

Hi! This error code responds to Hardware failure and possibly the GPU failure(Graphics processing unit). This is also called as 3 rings of death. The issue is heat, and what you need to do is take your system apart, clean off the GPU and motherboard, and put a spacer (like a washer) between the heat sink and the motherboard. This will allow "breathing" and keep the motherboard cooler.
(Remember this will void your warranty if its under warranty)

=============================

--==SECONDARY ERROR CODES==-

The specific type of hardware failure can be determined by a "hidden" error code
  • Turn the xbox 360 on, and wait till the 3 red lights are flashing.
  • Press and hold the sync up button (the small white one), while holding that button press the eject button.
  • The LEDs will now blink the first number in the code (as described below).
  • Release the eject button and press it again.
  • The LEDs will now blink the second number of the code.
  • Release the eject button and press it again.
  • The LEDs will now blink the third number of the code.
  • Release the eject button and press it again.
  • The LEDs will now blink the forth number of the code.
  • Release the eject button and press it again.
  • The LEDs will go back to the 3 red flashing lights.

You should be able to determine the difference between the 3 flashing lights and the error code lights by the rate in which they flash.

Here is how you interpret the LEDs to get the code number:
  • All four lights flashing - 0
  • One light flashing - 1
  • Two Lights flashing - 2
  • Three lights flashing - 3
