Xbox 360 wireless networking adapter solid red light

I have new sky broadband and it is a wireless router but i can't connect my xbox 360 wireless network adapter to it. It does not even find the network it just says not connected and stays solid red. I then input the ssid and net key and it still does nothing. What is the problem????

just got microsoft wireless network adapter for xbox 360. Connected it and put settings into xbox through flashdrive. Everything on details is right, but says wireless connection not connected. Tried switching things on and off to see if they're interfering, but still nothing. I'm on a sky router, quite a new one.

Your network is a G network, and the Xbox router wont run on N internet. It costs about $75 for a G router that runs faster than the cheaply made xbox router. it can send information and receive information.

SOURCE: wireless network adapter for xbox 360

Hi Guys,

I've been doing a lot of reading and I think you have to be sure that your network is setup for WPA as WPA2 is NOT SUPPORTED with the Xbox 360 wireless network adapter :(

You can not use the Belkin Wireless G USB Adapter for the XBox 360. You must buy a USB Wifi adapter that supports the Xbox 360. (See Microsoft's USB WiFi Network Adapter)

Did it ask you to enter a security or web key. most systems require that to verify a secure network. You can find the key on the back or bottom of the router.

If you do not have a router or a switch you will need to take the Ethernet cable that is connected to your broadband modem and directly connect it to your xbox.

Xbox 360 Does not recongize my wireless adapter

My adapter light is a solid red. When I plug in an ethernet cord, that'll connect.. but when I take the ethernet cable out, the 360 always reports Disconnected under Network Adapter even though the wireless adapter is plugged in.

Wireless adapter problem

The turning red means that it cannot connect to your network. If you are having trouble connecting it to your network then you are able to enter the details in manually. The WEP key should be on your router. Try entering this. Hope it helps.

Wireless network adapter for xbox 360

First off, The SSID is the name for your wireless network, and the WPA Key is the password to access you'r network this is usually set automatically by the router. However, there should be a sticker somewhere on the router, if not find out what you ip address is and go to it in an internet browser usually 192.168.-------- here you should be able to figure all of this out. If you are prompted for a password, try Username: admin and Password: password1or password. if this doesn't work look on the back of the router for a litle hole that is labeled reset push a pin or paperclip through tyhe hole and hold down the little button until all of the lights on the router flash, now the default access stuff listed above should wor.
