the different lg model would have been most likely on a different mobile network to the mobile network the sim is on. You would need to go to the mobile network provider the different lg phone model was on and pay for the unlock code. There are web sites that profess to provide unlock codes for mobile phones. You dial in #06# into the phone to get the imei and then get the unlock code to match the network provider.
it is the same pin you used to unlock your sim card when it was in your old phone. if you dont remember your sim card password just call your service provider and they will be happy to help you unlock your sim card.
Hi there, Im sorry to hear about your dilemma, lets try and get you fixed.
If you take the sim card out of the broken phone and put it into the other LG, does the phone accept the sim card? (phone may be locked to one network ie 02, vodafone etc)
If the phone does not accept the sim card you will need a new sim that the phone allows, then phone your network provider (for new sim) and tell the customer services you want to keep your old number. (sim out of broke phone)
About the data stored on your boyfriends phone, if the phone does not turn on, the data is lost. Unless it has a memory card inserted and your boyfriends data is stored onto that.
Hope this helps if you need any further help, please comment and i'll get straight back to you
Ah, I am a former tracfone customer, and the v170 phone was my first model. :) . Unfortunately no, because all of tracfone's phone models use a different sim card, even if you attempted to replace the sim card with an identical phone it would not work, the phone simply reads, UNREGISTERED SIM CARD. Its tracfone's way of making money, so unfortunately you'll have to put in your contacts all by hand :( which is a major pain in the rear.
Sounds like the internal software took a dump. I too have the i776, and unfortunately Motorola even realized that this phone is more problematic that the Windows Vista op system.
Unfortunately, the only solemn advice I can give, without sounding like a *****, is to remove the sim and battery...let it sit for an hour, reinstall sim and battery, try to turn it on, and master reset it. If it wont power on again, you have a paperweight now. Sorry....I know its not what you want to hear, but the 776 is a problem laden unit.
HI friend, First of all I am not too old to be called as Sir alright? Ok here is what you do, remove the simcard from the cellphone, gently rub it clean with a clean soft cloth(a lil dilute spirit wud be helpful) and then insert the simcard back into the sim card slot.It works 99.999% Have a great day:):) Plz rate me for my solution so that I can improve myself and be more helpful:):) Prasanth83:):)
