Question about Sansui MCX7AV CD Shelf System

Open Question

CD malfunction I have this system which used for over 10 years, I have the following problems on the system, (i) the CD player is now no working and usually displayed "No disc" even I put the new CDs, or those old CDs properly played with system before. Is the life of the CD player ended and can it be fixed/replaced? (ii) I have used another CD player (not Sansui) by plugging the cables into the audio holes at the back of the system (both at the bottom), but there is still no sound from the system but I can use the radio from the system (that means the connection of the speakers is OK). Anything get wrong with my system?

SOURCE: Hooking up external speakers to Sansui HDLCDVD320

I'm sorry, but the Sansui HDLCDVD320 has no analog audio out jacks. If you have a cable or sat box, etc, you might be able to get audio from their outputs. I hope this helps you.

Trouble with Dvd player in Dell Inspiron 530

Find the small pin hole on DVD player and use a straightened paper clip to manually eject in case there is a stuck disc.

Use system restore to roll back your system. Look for a restore point longer than the three days.

I don't see a correlation between the two because the system should work even you don't have an optical drive (CD\DVD).

The trouble lies in the laser pickup assembly, the only option you can try is buy CD cleaning kit and follow the instructions, the kit will remove any dirt that might have collected on the laser lens, If it works you will get more usable time out of the machine. The fact that you got 10 years is much better than the average, overtime the laser gets weaker until it can not track properly, so! if the cleaning fails it is far cheaper to replace than to repair.

Hi,

This is probably due to malfunction driver.

Questions:

1. What operating system installed on notebook. Windows Vista, Windows 7 or other ?
2. Did you installed anything recently ?
3. Do you have driver CD of your HP Pavilion ?

Try following

1. Restart your notebook, if minor malfunction a restart will work.

Thanks, Txsup

MODEL GX250. CD PLAYER DOES NOT WORK. SYSTEM WAS IN STAND-BY MODE FOR SOME YEARS. TUNER AND TAPE PLAYERS WORK FINE. QUICK SOLUTION PLEASE.

This should be because you have not used the player for many years. Does the system eject the CD tray? Use the CD head cleaner CD that removes dust on the laser head if any. Try using the audio CD which are recorded in .cda format and not ion MP3 format.

My disc drive on my computer wont read any disc? why?

Hello and happy New Year,
The following could be causes as to why a cd rom does not read the disc. Towers are much easier to work on than laptops because of the space and you do not have to disassemble them as much. The following are some common causes of malfunction.

1. The most common cause is that the optical reader lens is dirty and needs to be cleaned or the discs are scratched or dirty (you can also purchase a disc cleaning kit for your discs themselves). You can buy a cd cleaning disc fairly cheap at most electronics stores or wal-mart.

2. Sometimes the cables can become disconnected or does not make a complete connection inside the system

3. The device drivers could be corrupted and this causes the operating system to not be able to properly communicate with the device. If you are running windows XP or higher you can use the troubleshooting tools to help you run diagnostics on the device. Using device manager is the easiest and you can also update any device drives as well.

4. CD roms work in much the same was as dvd/cd players. If the disc is not spinning or is making weird noises and starts and stops a lot the problem could be that the spindle motor has malfunctioned or gone out. In a case such as this it would be cheaper to buy a new drive because the cost of replacing the whole drive would be cheaper than paying someone to replace the spindle motor, unless you know how to replace one yourself.

5. The worse case scenario is the optical reader has malfunctioned, in which case again it would be cheaper to replace the whole drive with a new one.

I hope this helps give you an idea of what the problem could be and some hints on how to fix it.

If you do not mind, please rate my help. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You

CD not playable

Hello

It sounds to me like the laser lens itself may be damaged or even broken.

Here is something you can try though, this might just work if the laser lens has some dust particles stuck to it. Just go to your nearest cd shop and buy yourself a laser lens cleaner disc, it is cheap.

Follow the instructions, and if the laser lens itself was dirty, this will help, otherwise the laser lens might be broken, which is a ver common problem, cause you used it for three years now.

Hope this can steer you in the right direction.

Kind regards
Andrea

Help - CD won't eject! I press 'Open' on my sony CMT-EX1 system and the CD moves backwards as though it's going to eject but then it stays there, unreachable. Then the display begins to switch between...

I have the same problem and it's due to dirt!
I'm going to try using compressed air, but -
this definitely works:

:) Seriously:

tilt the cd player to a 45 degree angle (flat, basically - as if they tray were horizontal.)

I had my player for 10 or 12 years, and this problem is only coming up now. My house gets very dusty.

Also - vertical load disc players are hard to clean. X_X (inside the disc tray)

I love this stereo too!
I don't want to have to go out and buy another stereo!

Cd player malfunctioning after cd lens cleansing

Ive replaced sooo many Bose systems for that very same reason. Id replace radio. Problem with Bose radios sometimes have no amp inside radio and if you replace the radio, you have to replace the entire system, very expensive, depends on year of vehicle too.
