Question about SanDisk Sansa c150 MP3 Player

1 Answer

"formatting problem" My sansa c150 player has 1.82 gb used space ( full of mp3 songs) and 39 mb free space. But unfortunately after connecting it to pc (windows xp professional) i couldn't see the mp3 files. The installation cd doesn't contain any formatting tool or tips.Hence I tried to format it using windows Quick format/Normal format options (right click and 'format').I saw the message 'Windows was unable to format'.To add to my woe the mp3 player is unable to display the songs even in its own says 'no songs'.I am still unable to format or delete the files. And still it says 'free space 39 mb and used space 1.82 gb'.Please help.

Re: "formatting problem"

I had a similar problem, I could upload songs, but they wouldn't play and I couldn't delete them. turned out it was cause I didn't have WMP10 installed on my PC, had an older version. the user manual states it only works with WMP10, and after I installed it (just search for windows media player 10 on the microsoft website) I was able to use the synch function in WMP10 and all the songs are playable (I'm listening to an album as I type :D)

To delete songs from your device follow the steps below
You have to make sure that the device is on MSC mode...then make sure your device is plug in to the computer..Then go to programs - accesories - windows explorer, find the SanDisk in my computer, go to media, music and delete them from there.
Either under sync panel in your windows media player it will show your music when it's connected. just click the plus signs for what song you need to get rid of, right click and click delete.
To format it..on your device..go, setting and there should be a format option option there..let me know if that doenst work for you...
Hope this helps

Sansa C150 No Space for DB. Please free more than 4.0 MB

are you able to format the player while in msc mode?

right-click on it while in my computer and select the format option, make sure your selecting your mp3 as this will delete all the files off the device. It if says failed to format, try doing it thorugh disk management. To get there you can right-click on my computer and select manage from the drop down menu. From here you will see disk management on the left hand side. Then a larger rectangular box with the drive letter that represents your player, you can right click on this and select format.

Or just try a different computer, if its the same everywhere then youll probably have to end up emailing sandisk, stating everything you tried. They will probably ask you to do a couple more things, but if you keep at it, youll end up with an RMA*.

1 gb mp3 player not working

Same thing happened to me. I was using windows media player to sync my song and it says my player was using 260 mb of space even though it was formatted time after time. I simply loaded as many song as I could fit on the player. When I unplugged it and plugged it back in, windows media now showed that missing 260 mb of space as available. The only catch is that the song I had already uploaded on to the player were not shown on the sync list.
