You neglected to infrome whether 32 or 64 bit if 32 bit The drivers for 32 bit are standard USB handset drivers normally provided by the phone manufacturer (LG) They use the same drivers for many of their phones.. LG VX 6100, VX 7000, VX8000 and VX 8100. Possibly even more
If 64 bit you are out of luck at this time the solution use a 32 bit version of XP without SP2 or with it maybe you get lucky and it work
I've used SFC to repair Windows 2000/2003 servers in the past, it debuted in Windows 2000 and it fixes system dlls. Start > Run > type 'cmd' and 'sfc /scannow'. You will have to insert a Windows XP SP2 cd for it to work (or mount and ISO of XP with a tool like alcohol 120).
If the %systemroot%\system32\dllcache folder becomes corrupt or unusable, use sfc /scannow, sfc /scanonce, or sfc /scanboot to repair the contents of the Dllcache directory.
Micosoft stopped supporting XP that did not have SP2 or greater. Basically unless you have SP3 update won't work.
This is a link to download a network version of SP3. When you run that it will update and then your normal windows update will work. Its a good size download ~400mbs so will take a while. Just save it then run it and that should get you sorted.
If you dont update your OS, even with the best Antivirus you will be in big trouble with security breaches/holes.
IF your copy of windows will not pass the WGA then you are out of luck with Avira . Avira needs SP2 so you could try AVAST, its min requirements are.
