Unlock video capability while driving

I was under the impression that i could unlock Video capabilities while driving, simply by grounding the supplied parking break wire. After about 20 feet of driving a message pops up on the screen that says, "parking brake wire not installed properly." How may i fix this?

    This would be great if it was an alpine unit but, you cannot just hook that wire to ground and have it work. The park break must go to ground but the mute wire is located in pin position 1 this must be carefully removed and placed back in pin position 4 and grounded as well. I have not had any problems since.'s forum page is the place to look for this hack or for any pioneer premier h/u hack for that matter.

If you are installing this type of head unit make sure to connect the parking brake wire, now here is how I made my dvd player work while driving. If you want video anytime connect this wire to a GROUND (negative). Make sure not to connect this wire to a hot (positive) or you will fry your new dvd player. Now be aware that in most states it is illegal to have video playing where the driver can watch. ( I think that most police officers have better things to do than pull people over for a movie playing in the front, but I could be wrong ) I hope this post helps some of you out before you have to pull your head unit back out and hook the wire up like I had to!

Can't get the lock screen to play.

You must hook up the brake wire in this case you'll be available to watch only when the brake is applied or if you want to avoid it, check the local law first about driving wile watching a video, usually in most of the states this is prohibited. After that if you'll like to unlock this is the way;
Just hook up the brake wire to ground (don't do the connection to the brake instead of, connect it to ground) and you will have unlocked the screen at all the times, but it is your responsibility because you may get a ticket for drive wile watching a video.

Video will not play. I get the message: Attention can not use this function while driving. My car is not even running and I have this message. Please advise on what could be the issue. Thank you for...

there is a wire (pink i believe) that is labeled emergency brake. If connected to the e-brake it sends a ground when the e-brake is engaged that enables video. This is to ensure that you are not driving (are in park) while watching video. To work around this, simply take the pink wire and ground it out. You can do this by attaching it to the chasis or by splicing it in to the ground wire (I believe it was black, but double check before doing any splicing).

good luck with your player!

Jensen vw9312 wont play ipod video

This unit does not have iPod video capabilities only audio, If you want to view video from your iPod you can get a universal cable that would charge it and also give you a audio and video output, this cable needs to be powered and grounded and hooked up to one of the radio audio video inputs. I have a Kenwood DNX7100 car stereo with bluetooth connection capability. The unit lost information on my Samsung U540 integration. Manual suggests hitting "Select" under the Setup Menu but this button...

First of all do you have a bluetooth kit for your head unit? if so ensure it is plugged in correctly. if it is, then you need to activate bluetooth on your phone and make it visible to other devices, once this is done search from the phone for the bluetooth on the head unit. It should read BT100 or similar. Once it has found it all you need to do is pair them normally using the code 1234.

Hope this helps

Think I'm Missing some wire(s)

Try to find a similar harness and cut out the black wire with the connector intact by using a razor blade or box cutter and insert it into the one that you need. You can also solder the black lead to a wire from the inside and tab it onto the metal case then ground the the case to the vehicle frame if you are technically capable. Good luck.

Ground the parking brake wire to any metal surface that is handy. Just as solution 2 suggests. I accidently clicked the top "Guest" as the best solution when Solution #2 was the one I meant to click on. Ground it and enjoy!
