Question about HP Computers & Internet
The whirring sound you hear may be a cooling fan, but you should only hear it when the computer is on. Here is an easy way to check: wait for the computer to turn off, and when you hear the noise press the enter key. If the computer turns on then it weasn't really off. It was sleeping. If it is a cooling fan, you can clean that yourself with a can of compressed air which you can buy a Walmart Target Big-K, or any computer store. Use the small plastic hose or pipe to blow the air through the fans in the back of the computer. Its most likely, dust/smoke/pet hair. No problem.
