It could be a number of things... bad hard drive, corrupt driver files, etc. If you can identify the brand of hard drive, you can go to the manufacture's website to download a diagnostic tool to test it. Alternatively, you could use a 3rd party diag. such as the ones on the Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD).
