Question about Gateway Computer Monitors

1 Answer

Undefined screen. I have a gateway monitor and an acer computer. Will this cause problem with viewing? The letters are blurred as if there is a triple view. There is no clarity of lines. It's as if there were a frozen ripple of water added to one side of all my icons on desktop. All lines and pictures of any window is like this as well. What can I do?

Hi,
It's your monitor has a problem. The mixing of the color of your monitor is the problem. Have the repair man/technician fix those things, they know it.
Thanks

My aoc 716vmy monitor have blurred or doubled view. how can i fix it?

a couple things to check. speakers close the monitor. (caused by magnets) run a degauss from the monitor menu, also check the monitor connections back of monitor and back of computer for "tight" fit
That covers external issues. In the computer, in windows XP its typically right click on the desktop , go to properties. adjust your Screen resolution to fit the monitor, see if different resolutions have the same double effect. also go into advanced look for "Monitor Refresh Rate", try increasing the "Refresh rate" from say 60Hz to 75 Hz. this is very common cause of poor screen quality. Hope that helps. Cheers

You need to set the PC VIDEO resolution to the monitor native resolution, which is 1440 x 900 @60Hz for best picture.

Most comon problem with monitors are bad caps in the power supply, any good reapair shop should be able to fix them easily, see pictures of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
At least you will have some info so you will not get ripped off by repair shops.

Monitor lcd acer al2016w 20" letters and image are fuzzy,,why?

I also have an Asrock motherboard (M266A) and have the AL2216W. The image and text is also fuzzy. I did improve it a by by unplugging/replugging all of the connectors on the back of the computer. I believe my mouse had a somewhat loose connection and this was causing interference. I can actually create interference on screen by moving my mouse up and down.
These Acer monitors seem to be very sensitive. I also tried this monitor on a old Desktop with Win98 and another new laptop with XP and it looks good on those computers, but not on my Asrock based system.

Blurry screen

It may be a bad VGA cable. If you twist and wiggle the cable on the computer connected end the blurred screen will clear up.

Image/screen shifting with mouse position

I realized my issue was that the screen was "slightly" zoomed in using the universal access panel in the system preferences. Turning it off, or zooming out completely solved the problem.
