Question about HP OfficeJet 7410 All-In-One InkJet Printer

I have a HP 7410, every time I print I get three error messages. First one is "New HP Photo Print Cartridge successfully installed". Second one is "New HP Tricolor Photo Print Cartridge successfully installed". Third one is "New HP Black Photo Print Cartridge successfully installed". All three messages come up every time I print. Please help as it's slowly driving me insane. window.google_render_ad();

Perform a semi-full reset on the all-in-one by following the steps below

Take out the cartridges from the unit .

Make sure the unit is connected to the wall jack directly without any surge protector.

Unplug the power cord from the back of the unit ( without turning off the unit ) .

Now press the # and 6 key together , while holding these keys down plug in the power cord back into the unit .

Do not release the keys after a few seconds u will find the hp logo or bars moving across the screen .wait while the unit turns off.

after one minute turn on the prnter . it will go into alligment phase > let it finish .

after its done > try to make a copy .

8 Allow the all-in-one to re-initialize. This may take a minute or two.
9 If prompts appear in the all-in-one display to set the front panel language and country settings, perform the steps to set this information.

My printer lights ( all three) are blinking with error message of "cartridge problem" I have tried to replace the cartridge with no success and cleaning the cartridge but no luck. Please help.


In this case you will need two new cartridges to identify the problem.
Take one new color cartridge and one black. Now, remove both the old cartridges and install the new ones and restart the printer.
Most probably your issue should be resolved.
Please ensure that you are using the following cartridges only.

Every time I print, the printer thinks that I have installed new cartridges so I get three messages - New HP Photo print cartridge successfully installed -New HP Black print cartridge successfully...

Re-initialize the HP all-in-one

Force the HP all-in-one to reinitialize by following the steps below:

1. Turn the unit off by pressing the ON button.

2. Disconnect the power cord.

3. Wait five seconds, then reconnect the power cord.

4. but before plugging the unit back in, press and hold the # and 6 keys on the HP all-in-one numeric keypad. Continue to hold these keys down for a few seconds after plugging the unit back in to reset it. Once the all-in-one re-establishes communication with the computer, reset the language and country.

Error message right print cartridge does not print


Are you using refilled ink cartridges, if so this could be the cause. Try cleaning the heads of the cartridges and the contacts (where the cartridge connects with the printer) with a clean Qtip. Wet the tip of the Qtip and clean the contacts inside the printer, then use it on the cartridge printhead. Put the cartridge into the printer and see if this clears up the error message. If not you may have a faulty cartridge. This error message will also appear if you use a refill and a new cartridge at the same time. Try these steps and see if it will help reslove the issue.

The HP 99 cartridge is used if you would like to print photos. The HP 99 replaces the HP 96 (black) cartridge in your printer. The HP 99 cartridge has black, photo magenta, and photo cyan inks in it. When you pair this with the cyan, magenta, and yellow in your HP 97 (color) cartridge you have the full set of photo colors represented.

Possible causes are as follows:
- The FINE Cartridge may not be installed properly.
- The FINE Cartridge may not be compatible with this printer.
Install the appropriate FINE Cartridge. If lines are misaligned or the resulting output is not satisfactory, carry out the Print Head Alignment.

The following error message appears on the color graphics display after you insert a cartridge: Remove and Check Print Cartridges . The printer will not print. The message does not specify which cartridge has caused the error. Solution This error message indicates that the printer cannot determine which cartridge is causing the error. Follow the steps below to solve the problem.
  1. Remove the color cartridge from the left stall (which has a blue latch) and refasten the latch. Leave the other cartridge in place.
  2. Close the printer, wait 10 to 15 seconds, then look at the LCD display.
    • If the LCD display reads Insert Color Cartridge in Left Stall , the color cartridge may be causing the problem. Follow the steps below:
      1. Clean the color cartridge contacts.
      2. Reinsert the color cartridge into the carriage and close the blue latch.
      3. Close the printer and wait 10 to 15 seconds.
      4. If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , replace the color cartridge.
    OR
    • If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , follow the steps below:
      1. Reinsert the color cartridge.
      2. Remove the black or photo cartridge, depending on which one is installed in the right stall. The right stall has the gray latch. Be sure to refasten the latch on the empty stall.
      3. Clean the black or photo cartridge contacts.
      4. Reinsert the black or photo cartridge.
      5. Close the printer and wait 10 to 15 seconds.
      6. If the LCD display reads Remove and Check Print Cartridges , replace the black or photo cartridge.

  1. Remove and then reinsert the cartridge indicated in the error message.
  2. If the error is still displayed, clean the contacts.
    1. If the error message is Error. Remove and Check Black or Photo Cartridge , the following steps may help:
    1. Remove both cartridges, lower the latches, and close the printer access door.
    2. Turn off the unit by pressing the On button on the front panel. Wait for the printer to completely shut down.
    3. Turn the printer back on by pressing the On button.
    4. When the message display reads Insert Print Cartridges , open the access door and replace the cartridges.
    1. If neither of the steps above fixed the problem, either the cartridge or the printer is faulty

    To replace the print cartridges Perform the following steps to replace the print cartridges:
    1. Make sure the HP All-in-One is on. CAUTION: If the HP All-in-One is off when you open the print cartridge door to access the print cartridges, the HP All-in-One will not release the cartridges for changing. The HP All-in-One can get damaged if the print cartridges are not docked safely when trying to remove them.
    2. Open the print cartridge door. The print carriage moves to the far right side of the HP All-in-One. Figure 1: Opening the print cartridge door c00956268.gif
    3. Wait until the print carriage is idle and silent, and then lightly press down on a print cartridge to release it. If replacing the tri-color print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the left.     4. Pull the print cartridge toward you out of its slot.

    6. Hold the print cartridge with the HP logo on top, and insert the new print cartridge into the empty cartridge slot. Make sure to push the print cartridge firmly until it snaps into place. If installing the tri-color print cartridge, slide it into the left slot. If installing a black, photo, or gray photo print cartridge, slide it into the right slot.     8. When prompted, ensure plain white paper is loaded in the input tray, and then press OK .
    9. The HP All-in-One prints a test page, aligns the print head, and calibrates the printer. Recycle or discard the page. A success or failure message appears.
      NOTE: If colored paper is loaded in the input tray when aligning the print cartridges, the alignment will fail. Load unused plain white paper into the input tray, and then try the alignment again.If the alignment fails again, you might have a defective sensor or print cartridge. Contact HP Support at www.hp.com/support If prompted, choose your country/region, and then click Contact HP technical support.
    10. Press OK to continue.

    Keep getting popup windows (3) every time I print - EVERY TIME!


    You may need to run the Print Head Alignment once to make it happy.
