Re: will CRV3 2.4 v battery work in this camera?
This isn't a definitive answer, but it is an experiential comment. I
would never put a lower voltage battery in something that draws power
the way a digital camera does. It might not cause any damage, but I'm
fairly certain the results would be low flash, slow reads/writes and
possibly other issues.

In the Kodak cameras of that vintage the original 3V rechargeable battery was made of 2 regular AA rechargeable batteries and a special piece of plastic that pushes some microswitch in the battery compartment. If this piece of plastic is missing, the dock would not charge the batteries. You either need the special CRV3 battery or to charge the normal AA rechargeables with a separate charger.
Yes, 2 AA batteries. Just insert them correctly. They don't last as long as the CRV3 lithium battery pack though

I bought the CRV3 battery and charger at Radio Shack and
Bought it 3 years ago, still using the same battery after taking 1,000's of
pics. I also keep a pair of regular AA's as a back up when I'm away from home
Hey Audrey83, What I think is going on is the battery terminals in the battery compartment need to be cleaned. I would use some alcohol and cotton swabs, and if this doesn't work I would have it looked at by an authorized service technician. Sincerely, Allan Go Ahead. Use Us.
It sounds like Amazon might have sold you a defective charger radio shack has a universal charger for your battery. Around 49.00 I got one and it works great I would first have you battery tested by a place like batteries plus to make sure yours is good.
I took mine to Radio Shack, because of that same problem. The guy there said that the battery card was not all of the way pushed in. Also, Radio Shack had sold me a 4G memory card to go with it and he, a different guy from Radio Shack, said that that was too much. It does work with my 1G card and he said it might work with a 2G. Who knows. With the battery pushed in correctly, it might work with the 4G.
I have no book, users guide. A girl a the store accidentally cut in half when she opened the package for me. No, she did not give me a new book! Yes, I asked.
