Has to do with your convergeance board, the ic(2) die eventually and a good tech will replace them with a cooler running set , a refurbed board is around $240. the repair kit to do it yourself is about $80.

Alot of techs recommend using the higher wattage ICs to replace the stock ones, which is never a good idea since the resistors get stressed. Upgrading to the STK394-160 IC is the only upgrade Hitachi recommends but then the values of the resistors need to be changed since the stock resistors will not work with the upgraded ICs

I was watching tv and all of the sudden i got multiple figures on the screen one purple and the other green what might be the problem? would appriciate the help.

This is a DP85 chassis Hatachi and according to those symptoms the two STK392-110 convergence amps need to be replaced. Use ONLY Sanyo originals and check all the 2.2 ohm 1w resistors in the yoke return circuit - replace any that are not with 10% of tolerance.

Look in the menus for a setting to turn the speakers on and off. Make sure there isn't a switch on the back to turn off the internal speakers.
